How can my 100 with 4.7 get 10-11mpg in 3rd gear towing my 40 to Hot Springs?

Something is amiss here... maybe you are driving 85?

That was a great game. Now y'all need to put the hurt in the Hogs for my Rebels.

Something like that.

The mileage sucks, but I knew that going into it. It's a half ton gas burner; I never expected it to get decent mileage towing. What these trucks need are giant fuel tanks. Another 40 gallons or so of capacity would be sweet.

The sweet spot for my 80 is 75 mph i get about 13.5-14 mpg.
The pic i took was with with my foot off the gas and going down hill to get the 9999 instant mpg. 15.4 is what motor is getting with the scan gauge . I just took off a mile or two for tires and gearing.

I other news..

The 80 saved my life

.. Coming back from FL it was raining real hard and real dark.. I was talkin on my handset on my phone to a sweet piece when i rolled up on a hard curve at about 55 mph. All i saw was a bunch of yellow reflective arrows when i realized i was going waaay too fast and this curve was a freakin 180..I had both hands on the wheel. Hit the brakes and Lexi fished tailed hard.. I corrected enough to not sideswipe the curb and roll.. I Hit it the edge of the curve dead center and spun into a shallow ditch. I don't know how i did not anything..

So i Did a nut check .. Pulled back on the rode and didn't miss a beat with the conversation.

I bow to the cruiser gods

80s rock.

Been there done that except I did not have any brakes due to a popped brake line. Made a right hand turn at 25mph and did not flip.

Similar story, but no LC involved.

I was leaving the Ole Miss golf course one of the first times I played there, because it started raining. On the way back to the highway, I decided to do some spirited driving in my 1988 16v VW Scirocco. (This was 1989, I think) I remembered the hills on the road on the way in, and decided to see if I could "get me some air!" What I forgot about was that last 90* right hand bend right before you get to the highway.

So, cresting the hill at something exceeding 70mph and fresh rain hitting the summer blacktop, I see the 90* right about 50 feet ahead. Jam the brakes to the floor and skid for about 2 feet before realizing that I'll blow through the curve at something north of 65mph. So, without thinking, I just release the brakes and haul the wheel hard right. Drop my front right wheel into the ditch half a foot before the curve. The wheel grabs the edge of the ditch (newly dug out, thank God) as it turns right and whips me into what felt like half a dozen stationary 360s. I come to rest in the middle of the road about 20 feet from where my wheel grabbed the ditch, facing the highway. No damage to the car at all. I will probably die several years early from a heart attack because of the stress on my poor 20 year old ticker.

Reminded me of a BMW

Crawled it better than my 100 series

That does not do his driveway justice!

Tisa's 100 was chirping the tires the whole way up!
