Unfortunately, I don't have a solution for the backlit speedometer.

I am out of town this week but if anyone needs a decal, PM me and I can get you setup next week.

Can you print the black and leave the numbers etc clear or translucent? If so I would deal with the surface to mount that to.

There is no easy way to do the translucent dial face. I tried several different ways and every way looked like crap.

Honestly, just get the white background middle piece that I mentioned in post #57 in this thread and you can use the non-translucent version. It fixed my issue of using a non-translucent OEM dial.

There is no (major difference) in the main housing. It is the middle piece that makes the difference.

Where would one get that piece?
Does that pice allow light to the front side of the face rather than just from behind?

I honestly have no idea other than to shop for used clusters. I have so many used clusters laying around from my past side project and eventually noticed that those with the non-transparent gauges have the white backed middle piece while those with transparent gauges have the black backed middle piece.

The white backed middle piece I would say is more "universal" unofficially because I am using a non-transparent OEM main MPH dial gauge while the rest of the gauges are transparent and I notice no difference in the lighting at night with my own eyes.

I forgot to mention that on the white backed one...I actually cleaned it up to get it as bright as I can before using it.

In the earlier post, I had something like below.

It is the speedometer decal on a translucent background. The issue was there was no way to consistently cut the odometer and trip meter cutouts.

There was not much interest in these so I kind of forgot about them.

I can print you one like this if you want. It would not have the speedometer and trip meters cutout. Then you can work on cutting out the inners.

Let me know what you think

That would be awesome. I would certainly be willing to do the r&d on my end to see if we can make it work for those of us with backlit gauges.

Is the white printed on clear material? Is it possible to not print anything in that area, make it clear? If so mounting that printed piece on a frosted layer (by me) might achieve a better result?

This is a continuation of another discussion around converting the face of the 70 series which I think are all Kilometers per hour over to miles per hour. I have a rough outline of the 160 max conversion (which can be done with our without the kph) however I need some additonal help to complete the setup. Namely I need a faceplate to make sure the art work all lines up and then to do a video of how to install.

Here is the conversion for the 160. I will do the 180 next.

Contact me here or via a PM if you have a face you are willing to lend me.

How do I order the decal to convert the fj40 from km to mph?

Sent a PM to you.
I am late to the party, I am buying a HZJ75 and need a MPH Speedo. Do you have a website or eBay store or something I can buy one from you?
