I would like to downsize my rotors used with 16" wheels to rotors that will fit 15 " wheels
And probably get slotted rotors. Can anybody recommed a vendor that could spec out the right parts ?

Why in the heck would you want to downsize???
Makes no logical sense from a safety aspect!
You realize this is a heavy vehicle and if you have it fully loaded with people and gear/camping/whatever, you may regret not having the extra second or two of braking power?
I don't recommend.

I am looking to change out the rotor/caliper as a combined unit.

In theory, some people have done this by grinding the calipers enough to fit the 15" wheels.
I assume this is to take advantage of some certain tire size, but could you explain why? This has everyone puzzled.

@beno what about the rears? wouldn't he have to revert to drums and the '92 axle?

I don't understand, why do you want to do this? it's like saying you want a smaller package :)

Boob Reduction Surgery.

Natural selection.

You make the connection.

i would like a smaller less powerful engine and weaker transmission as well.

Useless modifications I assure you without the second row sunroof and body cladding extensions. Use Toyota SST 6W6T6F to make the additional rust points for nutserts.

I don't have any problems stopping with my 92 with the smaller brakes. Maybe I'm just a better driver than the rest of you. :flipoff2:

Keep your 16" brake on your front axle. I did it the other way. 1992 15" Hdj converted to 16" brakes at front. 15" rims of the 70 series, means original design, but wider offset (30mm per wheel, that is in your currency 1" and a slice of toast). I had to grind the caliper, but just to lose some imperfactions.

The 16" brake is so much better, you would not believe it, even it is working with the same piston size. Tire is 33 x 10.5 BFG.

The tire I want, only comes in a 15".

So... The tire you want.... That mean like, youre getting a really good deal on an awesome set of 15's? Or like, you just want this particular tire, and will make it happen?

:D

I want a particular tire and hope to make it happen

While I suppose I appreciate everybody 's thoughts on the merits of the modification, ....the thread was requesting recommendation for a vendor that could help figure out if it was possible to get vented 15" rotors & calipers.
