Sorry if this is a repost guys.

I have tried searching it but all I find is people selling compass set ups.

I have a 1991 HDJ81 and was informed that somewhere on here there is an explanation on how to set the compass so it will actually work in north america ( Japanese model)

If anyone could either point me in the right direction or has the info I would appreciate it.

I will also be starting a build thread here shortly as I do my iceland inspired arctic truck 80 conversion.

thanks in advance you guys and gals are great.

Copy and pasted from another thread on here, these are the instructions I've used in the past:

"First, you should point your rig due north and adjust the compass to point "N" by using the "N" screw.

Then point your rig east and do the same with the "E" knob. Repeat it several times until it points to the right direction. The manual states a few times, but I did mine like a dozen times to get it right on.

You're supposed to re-calibrate every once in a while, too."

No prob. If you haven't already, check out the Diesel section for lots of good info on your new truck.
