awesome . . . you got my support. I'll call some friends in Cola that breathe fj

Mathew(yellow/black 40) was one of the first people we met when we moved to Columbia! Wow, it's a small world. He'll definetly be at the meeting.

Nice...tell him Matt Dean said hey and be sure to treat him right. His cruiser was one of the first I ever helped/messed with. He's a great guy!!!

Is his running now? :) Last I saw him it was going down for repairs this winter.

I think it's running a little rough, but running nonetheless. BTW, When you spoke to his youth group a couple of months ago, do you remember the guy that raised his hand in the back when you asked, "Who knows where Due West, SC is?" I had no idea that you were a Cruiserhead, and I'm kicking myself right now. It's possible that I didn't even drive my 40 that night that you were there. The world is getting smaller by the minute.

Thats funny stuff! I dont think you drove it that night.

I wish I could make the meeting, especially if Matt is going to be there. Yall have fun and make sure you take plenty of pics for everyone!

35 -- I spoke to Rob Lindsay this morning, they are a 4 cruiser family (3 of them running), and they will try to make it. Also, a guy that I work with, John Harison, will be there, he has a nice red lifted '87 fj60. I will be there in my new '87 metalic beige (rootbeer) 60. My kids love cruisers and they will be with me too.

That's fantastic! Thanks for spreading the word! Work through me a bit of a curveball and put me on call at the last minute for this week. However, unless someone punches through a gas main or something I'll be there, and regardless, my wife and blue 40 will be there.

what youth group did you speak for? hey 35, do you know much about FBC Cola? I have a lot of friends there

Well we had quite the turnout! If I remember correctly, we had 3 40's, 5 60's, and 1 62. My wife snapped a couple of quick pictures, and I'll try and get some others to post up as well. Thanks for all the support and to those who attended that are on MUD.

Great Job Nathan!!!

Thanks for getting things started. We had a great turn-out and I am sure we will grow under your leadership ;) . You led a tight meeting (except for the freight train 15 feet from our meeting area).
John

I can't thank everyone enough for the great turnout! The Sonic/trainstation is tollerable for a temporary meeting place, but we'll definitely have to find an equally centralized location that has less traffic running through it. I'm definitely not opposed to something indoors especially once summer rolls around.

The dealership is a great idea. How did Upstate go about getting that Anderson dealer to sponsor the club? I would imagine the larger the club(guarenteed buisness) the more incentive they would have. When I moved from Augusta, GA I left an awesome Toyota parts guy behind and I've been really surprised at the cold shoulder the dealer closest to my house in Irmo has given a couple of the Cruiser guys in reguard to TLCA discounts after we had already made a few purchases...but we'll see how the three dealers in town warm up to an entire club.

Well I actually bought my cruiser from a toyota mechanic in columbia....I sure can't remember his name but he rebuilt it and he certainly knew his way around a landcruiser. Not sure if he still is with toyota but from what I remember the dealership was in an older part of columbia.....not sure if that helps..been a long time.

Rick the parts manager had a 40. I guess that was the connection. I'll talk with Rick and see if he has any contacts.

The brother of a good friend of ours is a mechanic at Dick Dyer Toyota. I'll check with him. I know he owns and works on cruisers.

I live in North Augusta. What parts guy did you use in Augusta?

His name is Will. He used to work at Bourne Toyota, which is now Toyota of Augusta I believe. Unfortunately he upgraded himself to parts guy at the Lexus dealer on Washington Rd. I can't vouch for the parts guys at Toyota of Augusta that he left behind.

Thats cool. i appreciate the info though
