On Thursday, January 11th at 7pm, there will be an informal, inaugural meeting at the Sonic on Assemby st in downtown Columbia, SC. The goal of the meeting is just to get some Cruiserheads together and to determine what sort of direction people are interested in taking the club. I've been passing out flyers to Cruiser owners around town, but I know there have got to be some Cruiserheads on this board that live in the Columbia area. Thanks again to Marshall, for allowing me to post an anouncement on the UC board!---Nathan

Way to go!

I hope some of you guys are Gamecock Cruisers
like myself. I spent many years in your fine city
getting an education. I still make it down there
for seminars from time to time. I'd love to knock back
a few   with some Cruiserheads while in town!
Anything we can do to help, just let us know.
The Columbia Cartel? ;)

Thats great Nathan, good to see SC cruiserheads getting together!!! I hope you guys have a great turnout.......... don't forget to post up pics and good luck

Nathan,
Thanks for setting up this meeting. I'll be there, and I'll try to round up as many local cruisers as I can. I won't be driving my FJ40 yet, though. Its still in pieces scattered about my yard.... What part of town do you live in I'm in the southeast, behind the VA hospital. In my neighborhood there is a guy with 2 62's and a 100, and another guy with 2 60's and a 40. I also work with a guy who has a 60. See you next Thursday.
John

I like it. Gundy, you sure are a word crafter.

How 'bout a name for the Florida contingent???

I'll think about it, but, ya'll will always be The Wild Boys
as I've often referred to you guys at Tellico. :flamingo:
Dang, the Fla crowd always trail hard and party even harder.
Guess that's why we hit it off so well. :grinpimp:
Coronas for everybody!
I'll never forget that first meeting on trail#1, 10 years ago.
The Capt'n and Brother Barry in Big Ugly. The Rescue
of the ATV girls. Heck we made the papers the first time out.
Biggest news of that GSMTR. A sure sign of things to come.
See ya soon, Pal!

Thanks for the encouragment guys! I'm getting way too excited about this whole thing. I just kept bumping into Cruiser people around here and I figured that Columbia had gone clubless long enough.

Gundy- I ran the idea of "The Columbian Cruiser Cartel" by my wife when we were first thinking of getting a club together. She just rolled her eyes, but we'll see what sort of club names others have in mind. I will definitely push for the Cartel though.

FJ40-40- When I drove around handing out flyers to all the Cruisers that I knew of in Columbia, I ended up talking to Larry(the guy with 2 '62's and the 100(which belongs to his daughter)). He seemed pretty excited about the meeting. I live in Irmo, by the way.

Cool. Great minds often think alike. :grinpimp: I'd drop the "n".
Our reach at UC may be far, but it hasn't quite gotten THAT
far south of the border.....just yet. :grinpimp:
The Columbia Cruiser Cartel......cool. Bada Bing Bada Boom

I actually passed out a few cards in Chile and Argentina last year because I happened to have them in my pack and was talking Cruisers with some locals... :grinpimp:

Worldwide reach

I stand corrected.
We've done gone world wide it seems. There was the Capt'n in Costa Rica,
Jeff in Amsterdam, Andy in Chile and Argentina, Ghen in Germany and
Mike in Aussie Land. Hard to stop a Cruiser infection. Spreads like wildfire it seems.

35 - I am in irmo as well. I dont know whether I can make next thursday or not. Where exactly in irmo are you? I am over off Hollingshed.

If you can't make it to the first meeting, shoot me an email @ nathandcarlson@hotmail.com and I'll keep you posted on upcoming meetings. I live in the empire of Friarsgate on Chadford Rd.
If you know of any other Cruiser owners around Irmo, be sure to spread the word. The head count from Irmo so far(excluding myself) is two other 40's(red and yellow/black) and two 60's(red and silver w/crazy rainbow decals down the side).

Hey fj40-40....my old gf and her family lived behind the VA hospital....when I dated her her brother had a tan 60 lifted 86 and now his dad has a metallic blue 62 (used to have this big ass front bumper) and he may have a 40 now....I know they were lookin for one way back when. alan lindsey is his name....go look him up, they were the ones that got me into cruisers....good luck

CruisinTiger - Thanks, yes that's them and they do have a nice looking 40 hiding in the garage. I've never seen it on the road. Can I get your name to "name drop" when I go knock on their door?
Thanks,
John

My youth minister from HS is in Irmo/Harbison area, He has a Yellow and Black 40. I will try to get the word to him.

Mathew(yellow/black 40) was one of the first people we met when we moved to Columbia! Wow, it's a small world. He'll definetly be at the meeting.
