Well this is embarrassing. Southern Miss at #5 in ESPN's bottom 10. Ole Miss came in at #10

The Bottom 10 inspirational thought of the week:

bottom10_inline.gif

I took off for a weekend last month
Just to try and recall the whole year.
All of the faces and all of the places
Wonderin' where they all disappeared.
I didn't ponder the question too long;
I was hungry and went out for a bite.
Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum,
And we wound up drinkin' all night.

It's those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes,
Nothing remains quite the same.
With all of our running and all of our cunning,
If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane.

-- Jimmy Buffett, "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes"

The Bottom 10 could use some changes in attitudes.

For the first 12 weeks of the 2011 college football season, Bottom 10 teams have accepted losing and overall ineptitude.

And believe us, if they couldn't laugh, they would have all gone insane.

Jimmy Buffett must be shaking his head this week. Buffett, who received a bachelor's degree in history from Southern Mississippi in 1969, watched his alma mater lose at UAB 34-31 last week. With a chance to win Conference USA's East Division, the not-so-Golden Eagles lost to the Blazers for the third straight time.

Fortunately for Southern Miss, they'll play Memphis, another Bottom 10 stalwart, at home this week with another chance to punch its ticket to the Dec. 3 Conference USA championship game. But last week's hiccup earned the Golden Eagles the not-so-coveted No. 5 spot in this week's Bottom 10.

Mississippi college football is like a good looking woman. Take your money and break your heart.

I'm going with State 27 Bears 17

I would be more surprised to see us win by 14+ than I would be to see a tight win or loss.

What say you?

Bears will quit early. Expect a 21+ point blowout.

Damn Bears

Hope you are right Lash!

The rebels will quit if they get down by 2 touchdowns because the have inept coaches and no confidence. That being said I think it will be a horribly sloppy game with 4 + turnovers and will be close.

15 to 13 dogs over rebels in an inglorious win. If the rebels pull off the upset, Quasimodo's seat gets hot for next year.

This is the exact game that the Rebels will win. When they have nothing to lose.

Lsu/Ark..... Thoughts?

Miles teams win in spite of his coaching ineptitude but his luck has to run out eventually. I wouldn't be surprised to see Arkansas take it.

Ole Miss...bears my ass. You don't ditch 160+ years of tradition in the name of political correctness without payin' a karma price. I think State cleans their clock.

So what's your prediction? Closest gets one of Greg's PBR's.

28 - 7 State

yall are all wrong.......State up 14 nil when a tornadoe hits

21-20 Ole Miss

Decided not to go. No joy in sitting in the rain watching s***ty football. Like we say EVERY year: Maybe next year!

Well maybe not

The only thing more stupid than gold cleats and wearing a visor in a monsoon is Ole Miss' entire football program.

MS football is sadly approaching NBA status for me - WGAS!

Let's talk Southern.

What happens when they lose to Houston?

Is there still a chance they will play State in Memphis?

The talk on campus yesterday was that win or lose against HOU that USM will go to the Liberty Bowl.

Well, the Bears didn't quit early, they just suck. I loved the ending with points coming off the board then Brunetti getting stuffed. Bradley Sowell, #78 for Ole Miss, can suck it for his cheap shot on the final play. Here's a link. Sorry about the sound.

Lash gets Greg's PBR.

Dawgs to Music City.

Sowell was just trying top make up for getting whipped most of the season. I loved the half ass hand shake by Nutt at the end of the game. LOL!

Ditto. Nutt never stopped walking. In fact he didn't even slow down.
