4.7M - AL
2.9M - MS

MS has 2/3 the population of AL :flipoff2:

We all know that facts mean nothing to idiots.

I thought State was gonna give a better game until I heard Verne Lundquist say that Arkansas had to score some "style" points for BCS rankings. And they did...

A good Egg Bowl is still not out of the question. Nutt put it on a much better LSU team on his way out of Arkansas. I think it's more of an ego thing with him.

Is anyone going? Me tailgate es su tailgate.

I don't know. Why don't you start a new thread and ask

I dunno. Perhaps because I don't have permission from the Grand Potentate to initiate threads in his personal forum?:hhmm:

Who will State play and will it be in Memphis?

Gotta win one more first. CBS has us in Memphis against Tulsa which isn't making my panties wet but whatever. I have no idea who SB Nation is but they had us in Nashville against UNC. I'm not sure how credible they are though because they also had USM vs Pitt in the Liberty Bowl, which..ummm, can't happen.

Here's to another stellar OM coaching hire.

Is Brunetti the starting QB?

That's what I heard. You don't know what will happen. I still think the 3 he suspended are gonna play.

Agree

From another message board.

meteorologist here, and any other mets on here can chime in. Looking to be a big trough swinging in on Egg Bowl day and the timing of this trough will be a big weather player. This is a very stout upper trough and will swing into the area but the timing lately has been an issue as models have slowed down on the time this approaches the area. The model cuts off the upper trough into what is called a cutoff low and that sticks around for a few days. Anyway, the big question is will the trough and approaching frontal system be here at gametime Saturday. The models had been showing it approaching in the MS Delta with heavy rainfall at 12pm and over Starkville with heavy rain at 6pm. Now the winds aloft are very strong and if we could have some heating and any instability wise, I would worry about some strong severe weather. Met friends here, showed SRH of 800 for Columbus with southeast winds..To give you an idea, SRH or storm relative helicity on April 27th was about or just over 1000 so its significant..However, it looks to be only forced convection or storms and no instability wise so tornado threat looks like null. Still I will keep an eye on it as any instability could make the Egg Bowl forecast very interesting for severe weather..My main concern is the timing of possible heavy rainfall and hopefully the slower GFS is a trend that the model takes...If not we could be in for a soggy Egg Bowl and missed field goals =/...

Below is his projection for 6 on Saturday. Looks like our team colors will be poncho orange.

Yes Mackey is still suspended. I bet Scott will play because it was his first offense, but have not heard. Prepare to see a lot of option and a few play action passes thrown at ankles. It will be obvious if the coaching staff has given up by the game or lack there of they design for brunetti.

What did Mackey do?

Drew D linemen offsides with his studer?

State was after Brunetti pretty hard but I was kinda glad he went to West Virginia. I think he and Mini Farve are a wash and I doubt we would have landed Dak Prescott if he would have committed to State.

I expect a pretty low scoring contest. Especially if the weather is what the above pic shows.

The weather droids in Jackson are calling for the rain to come after gametime.

Remember, these are the same people that are saying that we are causing global climate change by driving Suburbans....

I hope their right. Cold, wet and unentertained is no way to spend a Saturday.

ESPN Bottom 10

Well this is embarrassing. Southern Miss at #5 in ESPN's bottom 10. Ole Miss came in at #10

The Bottom 10 inspirational thought of the week:

bottom10_inline.gif

I took off for a weekend last month
Just to try and recall the whole year.
All of the faces and all of the places
Wonderin' where they all disappeared.
I didn't ponder the question too long;
I was hungry and went out for a bite.
Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum,
And we wound up drinkin' all night.

It's those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes,
Nothing remains quite the same.
With all of our running and all of our cunning,
If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane.

-- Jimmy Buffett, "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes"

The Bottom 10 could use some changes in attitudes.

For the first 12 weeks of the 2011 college football season, Bottom 10 teams have accepted losing and overall ineptitude.

And believe us, if they couldn't laugh, they would have all gone insane.

Jimmy Buffett must be shaking his head this week. Buffett, who received a bachelor's degree in history from Southern Mississippi in 1969, watched his alma mater lose at UAB 34-31 last week. With a chance to win Conference USA's East Division, the not-so-Golden Eagles lost to the Blazers for the third straight time.

Fortunately for Southern Miss, they'll play Memphis, another Bottom 10 stalwart, at home this week with another chance to punch its ticket to the Dec. 3 Conference USA championship game. But last week's hiccup earned the Golden Eagles the not-so-coveted No. 5 spot in this week's Bottom 10.
