If it's anything like the last little grill I bought from woot, it's a total POS that you will toss directly into the trash can after you open it.

Good luck!

They delivered it around noon, the quality is there, very well built and sturdy, will try it out tonite......

don't know about those. Hope it works for you.

(would it be easy to clean or burn messy drippings off?)

OK I have used it once, did burgers, and dogs, it seems to be more of an oven that a grille........I used a temp probe in one of the vents and it maintained a constant 300.....burgers were very juicy, but not too much grille flavor, dogs were very very good it put a real nice crust on them which all my crew love.....clean up is a snap........ every piece will drop into the dishwasher......I have it packed up and am taking to the Crawl in Hot Springs, it will get a workout..If I paid what they go for on Amazon or elsewhere I would not be pleased..around $120..however when I got it for 69.99 plus 5 for shipping on Woot it will pay for itself in camp. Will be nice to have a mini oven on board.....may do biscuits one morning, it will work great to heat my Pulled pork I'm taking....

oh and the lifting handle they send works so well, it will lift the cooking grate or the basket the coals sit in, and it is so strange to be able to pick the whole thing up and move it around those vents in the bottom stay cool to the touch at all times...I filled the ''moat'' with a Shiner....

Next time you cook post some pics of it in action. I cannot figure out how it goes together.

I agree.
Looks like a stainless puzzle.

Also, a pic with you or something we are all familair with in the frame so we can get an idea of its size would be nice.

thanks!

I've wanted a propane or gas cartridge version of the Cobb for the past couple years or more...even to the point of considering modifying one; however I have enough projects to keep me busy and not looking for another! The Gas Cobb was supposed to be intro'd in Europe this summer. But now I see a 2012 intro for the Gas Cobb grille on the Cobb site.

Cobb Gas Grill

Without starting a gas vs. charcoal debate I've grown tired and mostly impatient with charcoal for longer camping trips. Some of our trips involve up to or more than 1,000 miles off-pavement and hauling/using charcoal is just a PITA. And if its raining...

I'll be purchasing a Gas Cobb as soon as they become available.

I prefer charcoal myself, but it's becoming a grey area for fire control reasons.
Depending on the region's fire regs, us charcoal heads may be screwed if that's all we came with.
While I hate the results of a gas grill, I would own one for back country camping if it meant I didn't have to find a different means of cooking while out. Gas or otherwise, a grilled tri-tip is still better than a pan-fried one.

I carried a gallon bag of charcoal and the fire starters, all inside the lid, inside the carrying case, this is enough charcoal for 4 fires, as for starting it, it's ready to roll in 10 minutes...there was room in the lid for a pair of tongs also.....I think ya could run it on small chunks of wood, which is what I use in the Kumota grille instead of charcoal.....
