Messaged with Danny yesterday...the dates of your event/trip are open at his place.
Simply...he's a retired offroader. Jeep guy, but gets along with everyone. He likes moonshine, cigarattes, non-UT cheap beer and pretty girls. His home has a LARGE gravel lot with plenty of parking. Some grass for tents. The house has one room with two bunks (4 beds) and another with a double or queen. One bath. The shop is FULLY stocked with tools...everything you need but a hoist. Part of the garage holds a nice party table, fridge, and includes a full bath with shower. He can/will drink until daybreak, but has gotten smarter the the past few years. I've stayed there a total of 10-15 weeks over the past couple years, and will be by again this weekend for a night. He's been storing my Teryx4, my FZJ80 and my alum trailer since May. His place hosts 20-25 rigs and parties during EJS, including little companies like BFG, Raceline, Dynomax, etc. His shop is ALWAYS open for repairs, and he will drink beer and watch while you wrench on your junk. Simply put, you need it or break it, you replaced it...someone needed a D300 transfer case a few years back and he had one...6 weeks later a fully rebuilt D300 with 4:1 and 32-spline outputs showed up...that's the generosity he displays and he gets in return.
No drinking/driving is the only rule, party all night, wrench all night, etc.
@4xsteve has his number, if this works for you, ring him up. Let him know I referred you. He's on the S end of Moab, so BFE, Behind the Rocks, and some of those are convenient. The KOA is also close should someone prefer full hookups, but he does have a few 30A extension cords for campers.
Price? Negotiable donations...the tip jar is in the garage, wifi is free (RockCrawler.com sponsored, hence my connection). He does NOT keep much for Toyota parts, so don't hold your breath there
He was just finishing a mezzanine in one garage stall when I was last there, and trying to weed out his pile of stuff.
Heather and I will be in for a few days of the trip, unsure just when yet. We are still homeless, and need to be settled into something before we start any road trips. Only 4-1/2 hours from the tentative house tho, so an easy drive.
