Unfortunately I can't swing getting the whole week off this year and I can't miss another CM so I booked the short week package - Wed. to Sun.. If I can hook up with the full week CSC crew to do some trails toward the end then it'll be a bonus. I intend to run Spike Thursday but may bail on the other two if other options materialize.
Itinerary:
-Leave from north Peoria the morning of Wed 5/2, arrive in time for tech inspection and packet pick up.
-5/3 Signed up for Golden Spike
-5/4 Signed up for Hell's Revenge, alternate Moab Rim
-5/5 Signed up for Kane Creek, then CM Dinner & Raffle
-Leave Moab Sun. morning 5/6
I intend to book the Bowen Inn. Two other rigs in the caravan so far, both have booked Bowen. Anyone else that is on the short week schedule is welcome to join.

OK, I'm committed for leaving 4/28, returning 5/6. Juan and I talked over lunch, agreed that we are not going to signup, going to wildcat the whole time. The last few years, have only been running Spike, not that into the banquet, etc, so not worth it.
Thinking the same type of trip, SE Utah, then arriving in Moab on Wednesday. Still likely to run Spike, etc, just not "officially". With a small group, can run two or more trails per day?

What do we need to do to firm up the dates we will be in each town?
Easy deal, just decide what areas/trails we want to run, then select lodging close to them.
What are you getting spun up about? We are usually lucky to have 24hr notice of a trail run and this one is months away! What, you go on one scheduled/planed in advance run and now are
ruined?

Leaving 4/28, returning 5/6.
Already booked that slot to make sure I can take off figuring I could always go on a cruise if it did not work out.
Based on the reduction in overtime by the man, a cruise may be out of the question. Thank goodness Cruise Moab planning has begun.

A cruise would likely be cheaper, have you checked fuel prices lately?
The cruise lines are likely to tack on a fuel surcharge to make sure people don't flock to the more expensive Moab vacation scene.
Tony, I was just projecting. Anyone that works as much overtime as you do is surely compensated well enough to keep you happy when the overtime dries up from time to time.
As for May Day (5/1) the man has told me I may not travel to Utah for the forseeable future.

The family is talking cruise, so, price checking/watching. Most have a fuel surcharge, but with the economy, a ship sinking, etc, prices are at an all time low. After a Moab trip the CC bill looks something like; fuel, fuel, food, fuel, food, fuel, food, hotel, fuel, food, fuel, food, hotel, fuel, food, fuel, food, hotel, fuel food, fuel, food, hotel, fuel food, fuel, etc or lots of $$$.
