you can put the grill on a reciever and slide it in at whatever height you wish. Just a few bucks and a couple of welds.

It could be used for other things, also. (a vise come to mind)

On Board Grill

Nice idea but really if the club get's active to the point of a smoker grill, having a dedicated one built or building a dedicated grill seems more logical. Just my .02 and almost any of our rig's can put a good sized dedicated cooker on 32's or 35's. But that my friends should be another project. I know from the
BBQ of the past I would donate some funds to that project fer sure. :D:D

lol.

Chuck and I went to Northern and bought a 1000w inverter with a remote panel. This morning I bought a shower heat exchanger and 3gpm pump.

Oh yeah forgot to get the propane tank.

We can make an easy mount out of threaded rod and a 2 peices of steel for it to ride on the tongue.

Batteries.

They are crazy expensive for an AGM. I had planned on getting two but I'm thinking we could just go with one and get a Honda 1000w generator to recharge the battery and run the crap. It's a little more expensive but I think it's worth it.

Thoughts?

The best deals I've seen are (1) Die Hard Platinum 30% off at Sears = ~$160 (2) Optima Yellow Top $70 off $200 at Advanced Auto = ~$130 (3) Energizer AGM at Sams for $99.

I bought 1 and 2, but have just seen 3 on display. In the short term, Yellow Top has been very reliable and holds a better charge than 1 or red top, but I can't comment on longevity yet. A lot of people bash the "new" Optimas but I have been happy for the price paid. I'll keep an eye out for that deal again if you're interested.

Great progress so far!

I've been eyeing a Honda generator. I've seen a few at events lately. They are pricey but nice and quiet and fuel efficient. Imagine watching football anywhere...

I've had a couple Yellow tops and 2 got replaced under warranty after about 4-6 months of use. Most models only have 1 yr, but some have 2 yr warranties. My newest battery is a Sears Platinum Diehard. I've heard good things about them, so giving it a try. That's all I got.

I've got 3 of those currently and they have worked well.

Alright we are going with one Diehard battery and a honda gen.

Which Honda generator are you looking at? I've been eying a Honda EU2000 for camping and also for use as a small generator at the house if power goes out. Maybe we could buy two at once and get a better price. I was hoping to wait until next winter for the generator purchase but wadaheck...

Honda EU1000IKC Inverter I don't think we need more than that.
