All joking aside, looks like no one here local can make this run.

Here is the deal.

Lenny is going to be trashing on his junk all day on Saturday at his shop. If you guys from out of town still want to come to MS this weekend, you are still welcome to stay at my farm friday night. Lenny is just south of my house. He can throw some info on the wrenching session in the wrenching session thread.

So, officially, this ride is being postponed.
Crap.....and I had already made plans to be away from the Flea Market......

I need some time away, so Val and I may go anyway

Jordan, Brian - Whacha wanna do? This may be a blessing in disguise for me as I'm pretty much outta money again/still until after GSMTR. I'll still tag along if y'all wanna go somewhere though. I just may have to be REALLY cheap in the process.

Jordan, if you got access to a truck that'll tow my rig, and the three of us can ride and split gas, we can run to Superlift with mine and yours. It'd be a shakedown run for me before GSMTR. I THINK I could swing that $ if it was split up a bit. Although I know you were already planning on going to Vicksburg to see the peeps. If that's still the case, I guess we could take something other than Mark's 80 if we're not gonna wheel.

I'm still planning on going. If nothing else, I'll go to Vicksburg and kick it with Aaron and Daniel.

I have nothing to tow a truck and trailer in Memphis. Trailer, truck, and Snoop all in Hot Springs

BTW, Snoop is down with starting issues and due for new rear springs. Got a set of springs located and planning to do that the week before I get married. We'll see how this all goes...

Sounds good Jordan. We'll see what Brian has to say and what vehicles we have to choose from. I may still be in for a trip; as long as you guys can handle dragging my cheap ass around. (Still do my part for fuel, of course)

Hey guys...if anyone was planning on borrowing my truck this weekend...unfortunately I have to withdraw that offer. I leave on Saturday morning and the wife wants to keep the truck around in case her family needs some assistance up in the Atoka area...due to the flooding and all.

Sorry guys.

- Mark

That's fine. We've decided to carpool in the Impala. Be in Jackson Friday night :bounce:

Mark, no problem. Your truck is perfect for all this flooding going on, no worries.

wngrog, could you shoot me a PM with your address and contact info for tomorrow? Thanks much!

I need to know where we are headed tomorrow. Anyone have wngrog's info? I sent him a PM on Tuesday but have not heard back. I'd hate to drive 3 hours then not know where the hell to go. Thanks!

Brian

The PMs I have sent are to Jordan. Sorry.

Bring it on. I won't be here. Gotta go stack furniture in Clarksdale. See PM for info.

If you guys want to get up early and fish, the lake in front of the house is chock full. Help yourself, take out what you want.

Cool, thanks!

A weekend at Grogan State Park with no catch limits... Priceless!

Need any help Nolen? I know this flooding thing is going to cause some folks some misery. Been through it before with family members and would be proud to lend a hand. My junk can wait.

Need any help Nolen?

No. Thanks though. Lash might since I had to bail on him.

Funny story, the caretaker of my sisters "camp" (nice as any house), decided to stay inside the levees to protect the club property. They all moved everything up 2' thinking the river was cresting at one limit.

Now, it is cresting even higher and everything is for sure going under.

The levee if closed to all traffic, but they are going to allow us in since the caretaker is "law enforcement"

I can hardly wait. :bang:

made the trip

My wife and I made the trip on Sat, had a great time.

Started in Utica, made our way to Lorman, ate at the Old Country Store (chicken was ridiculous good). Spent the rest of the day on winding gravel roads, finishing up in Port Gibson. Didn't get to see the Military Park, was closed due to flooding.

Thanks to DavidsCJ7 for all the waypoints and directions. He really helped me out.

pics below.

First pic is waterfall outside of Utica, the low water bridge crossing south of Rodney, and finally the Old Church at Rodney. The river was over the road in front of the church...we couldn't get all the way up to it.

More pics

3 more...

Stopped at Windsor Ruins, approaching the old iron bridge, and making the crossing. The sign at the bridge about the weight limit gave me a bit of pause, but no issues...

Awesome! That is exactly what I wanted to do. Thanks for the pictures. It really looks fantastic.

I got home late yesterday. I did not have near as much fun as you did.

Did you ride over and look at the MS river? It is really flowing harder than I have ever seen.
