Awesome! That is exactly what I wanted to do. Thanks for the pictures. It really looks fantastic.

I got home late yesterday. I did not have near as much fun as you did.

Did you ride over and look at the MS river? It is really flowing harder than I have ever seen.

The closest we got to the river was at Rodney...that was just floodwater, but it had a very fast current to it. Never seen that with overflow before. Anything in the water was flowing south at almost a brisk walking pace. I'm about to post a few more pics of a few houses close to the river that had built levees completely surrounding the homes. It was quite a sight. Even saw an alligator swimming in the floodwater.

Well, we spent the whole day evacuating my father-in-laws deer camp house. It is special to him since he has been a member there since the late 60's and his father is a founding member and actually built the camp house. The boat ride in was 6 miles! When we left it was totally empty with the exception of some items we stuck in the attic. The front porch is 9+ feet off the ground and the water was inching up the last step when we left. They are hoping it stays on the piers and does not float downstream.

Sorry to see that Lash. I wonder where the deer have gone too and what the hunting will be like post flood. We are heading to a friends house on mud island for a flood party. Will post some pics in the flood thread.

FIL said the deer will come home when the river receeds. They always have when it has flooded in the past.

Andy,

I'm glad you had a good time. Did you have trouble finding anything?

David,

Only a few turnarounds...Ruby Smith Road had been renamed (forget the new name), and a couple of the roads didn't even show up on my GPS, had to drive down them on faith...but that's to be expected.

I honestly couldn't have made it without your directions and my GPS. For a non-local out by himself, those were some serious backroads! A paper map would have been worthless.

But we both had a great time, and my wife is even asking when we can go again.

Thanks again!
