Looks like you need those sliders pronto :)

Yes, those Aluminum Proximity Alert Sliders aren't cutting it.

Kim,

That is Eagle. Nathan did some cool editing to the pics. I wish I could get him out more.

cool thanks . i thought i saw a coastal cruiser's sticker on the back window

I'm a bit late on the reply, but yes that's me. I was on nights from Jan-Mar of 2012, so that's why the truck looked like a static display in my driveway. I've noticed your 40 close by when I was walking my uncle's dog, you're pretty close by. Does your brother live in the same cul-de-sac as me? What's his first name? (if you feel comfortable posting it)

Haven't been out with the club for a long time, but renewed my membership last night. Was great to see everyone again, and I'll try to get the 4.11 front diff in the truck this year so I can do some wheeling. Finally got rid of the slight death wobble in the steering. Can drive with one index finger again.

Can you post up what you did to fix it?
Thanks,

Hey Deny, My new (at one point) drag link ends ate the opening where the ball stud resides from not being properly adjusted  - replaced with new (but for a RHD truck, made it work - thanks 4wheelauto). Replaced all leaf spring and shock bushings with new. Swapped out the steering box with a used unit in good shape (original still had a little play at full adjustment) At this point it had improved quite a bit, but definitely some shimmy @ approx 90kmh. Last step was while replacing the fwd axle seals (and outer axle bushings - will always replace those if there is outer axle play from now on with the locking hub removed) found two of the four steering knucle taper bearings had worn grooves into the outer races. Installed a decent pair from a spare front axle, and that is what seemed to smooth it all out. I am going to put a new set in when I re & re the fwd diff, just to be sure they are all in good shape. I was convinced the frame was bent or my tires were warped ( they were slightly - slight wobble when rolled along the hangar floor ) as I had already done the knuckle brgs. once I was in there it was pretty obvious they were trashed. I still have the 12.5 wide BFG ATs. I was thinking maybe they were too wide for the rutted roads down here, but not too bad for most. Steve Stanley from Helijet says Hi.

Sweet, thanks Mike. Yeah its been a while, Tell Steve Hi for me too.

Will do. I replaced all the items individually to try and pinpoint the cause of the death wobble. For the amount of time I get to spend wrenching on the cruiser these days, the whole process has taken over a year. I was even contemplating parting the truck out for a while out of frustration, but I kept telling myself It's just an old simple rig and it can't be that complicated. In the end it wasn't, just took me a long time to find the really obvious.

I should also note that I removed two leafs from each front spring pack, that put the shackles at a much better position than vertical. I also installed the caster shims that I left out when I initially installed the lift. When I had the alignment chk'd my caster was @ +1 degree. After I did that, I could drive with just one hand, but a fatiguing grip.

Right, yes they seemed to have done a lot of work to the yard. Mine is quite the swamp during winter. That's right I think they moved due to a job opportunity or so I heard from his next door neighbor. Do you know the person with a green lifted Suzuki 4 door? I saw it once in a while by their house, I think. There is another guy close to 60th & 172nd with a RHD 80, but I haven't spoken to him yet. Anyway, if you're ever going by my place stop by for a beer if you have time.
