Hey Justin, was that you or your brother taking Molter's old 80 body for it's last ride to the scrapper? Saw the dodge pulling through town yesterday with a trailer, I didn't realize how bad that 80 was wrecked!

(Yes ham radio people, we know your radios are better...but Please, let's not open the ham radio discussions ...... again...) :deadhorse:

Sounds like someone has issues with his inferior equipment :D

Ya, I have been clearing up the back 40 before the snow flies!
Daves 80 was hammered! did you like my Blingin wheels on the dodge?:D

I need to change mine to the 5th, didn't properly check with the domestic boss.

I'm going to commit to the 4th and 11th. See how the old '60 does. I always have fun on the Christmas tree cutting weekends. I second the discussion on everyone should have a CB as a minimum. Those that were looking for antennas for their CB, Walmart, Radio Shack and Pep Boys have mag mounts for about $20. As for the Ham guys, the forest service frequencies are just below the Ham bands. You can open the range of your radio by clipping a few components (it is designed to be done so don't freak out) to Xmit on the forest service freqs. It is legal to be on those freqs since you are a volunteer.

I had a customer come by the shop, with a 74 red 40 series, and a paki top, he had interest on getting involved with the club!
I told him that the tree cutting is a blast and a great way to meet to group members...I hope he shows up!

Just figured you all should know!:D

Are we covering the new cutting area also, along hwy 67?

We may want to double check that area is open. The map they gave us for our tree was only to the west of 67. I know last year they had both areas open. Maybe they just forgot to give us the other map this year.

I should note we didn't get our tree permit at the woodland park middle school but at the forest ranger station near downtown.

Pete heard from the forest service that they had 4+ inches at the south end of the tree cutting area and 6 to 8 at the north end. They plowed rampart, but the side roads should still be good.
