Me and the wife are still in for wheeling on Saturday and camping that night. Assuming the weather stays nice. Apparently camping in the snow isn't appealing to her?

If we camp Saturday, is there any plan for a possible Sunday trail?

I'll be camping Friday night, but not Saturday. I've got to be home Sunday to hide eggs and try eat my kids candy without getting caught. :cookie:

Sunday is the CARNAGE run.

A little snow may motivate me to bring my pop up camper...but running this trail covered in the snow may be a pretty tough feat.

Yeah, that forecast doesn't have me feelin' to happy either...

Oh and Also I'm bring two FJ guys with me from the FJ forums, *skywalker* (Bo) and Windstarfj (Rob) we are going to camp friday night.

There may be 2 more guys coming from the FJ forums too.

Is this trail not doable if its wet?

??? Luke? Matt?

Cool! Really hoping the weather decides to cooperate. Really looking forward to this run.

The trail is doable wet. It's even doable, although more difficult, in the snow. There are no rollover slide off sidehill spots. How hardcore are you guys when it comes to camping? I'm thinking there will be snow on the ground, and maybe rain. I'll be off the ground in a pop up camper, so it makes no difference to me :)

I may end up putting the doors back on for this. What do you guys think about an earlier start if the bad weather isn't more towards the afternoon. You don't think there is some camp spots in the sun And maybe it will be melted by then. Luke I think you might have at least one thing in common with these fj guys.

My thought are:
Keep the Saturday start time, the first tough part of the trail is uphill, so as long as we get through that, coming back out will be downhill and easy like falling off a rock :)

I am holding out hope that there will be sunny camp spots with no snow. We just have no way of knowing until we get there. Either way, I'm going to have a great time. Bringing my 9 year old daughter and a friend, so I'm sure they'll be running all over the place.

Can't wait to party with the FJ guys! Wooooo!

Man, I really wish I could join y'all. There is just no way I can make this weekend work. But, I'll be doing something next Friday, camp that night, then wheel on Saturday. (4/25-26) My friends from Louisiana will be in town and I want to show them what Colorado has to offer. So, we aren't completely sure where we'll end up yet. Chinaman would be a great trip but we might just do Metberry and the gulches there. Any other ideas would be great!
Y'all have fun!

To bad you can't make it. Only trail I can think of is Illinois gulch and Missouri gulch. You will have the little Moab hill obstacle which is fun, but otherwise a fun trail. There was quite a bit of snow on rampart still this past weekend but those should still be good. I don't know how the snow will affect the metberry area.

I'm leaning toward taking the pop-up since the weather may not be perfect...Things don't look too bad. I just checked the traffic camera there and things look clear snow-wise. Here is the forecast from weather underground:

It looks like the makings of a good night of camping on friday and probably a great day of wheeling with maybe a little rain saturday afternoon!

Two storms are coming in Friday and Saturday...both quick moving and not much cold air with it so snow levels should remain above 10 kft. Rain showers should move into the area Friday afternoon through midnight...then the next round late Saturday morning. Snow levels may fall a bit on Saturday...but should still be high.
