Took her out on the HWY today...70-75 MPH, handles nice and straight, turning 2200 RPM in that speed range.
It does feel like I need taller gears in the diffs though. I think the 4.88 is just a bit too low.

Actually, it MIGHT be a bad TPS!!!
It was shifting kinda "weird" w a bit of a shudder when accelerating.
Thought it might be the rig ( as I have no baseline for how it performs), but I did a little investigating....
I'm gonna check it out today.
This woke me up at 430 am thinking about it, in fact!
Trans was rebuilt by someone reputable, so I can't imagine it something in the trans.
There's no adjustment on the shifter, so it would have to be something like the TPS, or the throttle cable being too tight, something like that....
While accelerating, I'd have to let off the gas for it to shift, and it's pretty sluggish during that time.

Don't change your gears yet. Wheel it for a bit. My 4.10's don't allow me enough RPM in 1 low with my 700R4. I plan on 4.88's when I'm ready for 35's. Now if you REALLY want to change the gears I'll swap you my 4.10's

I tested the one that was in there.... Readings all over the place. Picked one up, stuck it in. It like a whole different driving experience.

Great to hear you are getting it dialed in. Like others have said, 37's should work perfectly with the OD, so you will be in good shape when the time comes. The other benefit with the 37's is that it might smooth out the low speed lurch as well.

So stoked!!! End of feb. Can't come fast enough!!!

Still tryin to figure out the best way to mount speaker boxes off the cage...
Getting kinda pissed about it actually!
Everything I've come up w/ I hate as far as mounting options!!!

Just for future reference for you when you are able to move to the 37's. The 5.3l 4l60e combo with 37's works very weel on and off road with 4.88's. As far as off road I do not remember what tc you used but with my orion I use 1st for the rocky stuff and steeper down hills and then 2nd and third the rect of the times. Everything works very nicely. I however have never had 35's on my rig and will likely be moving to 40's in a few months.
