No SPARK!!!!!!!
Ran for a few seconds, then died.
Anyone!?!?!??

A plug could be undone somewhere. I am sure you checked. Next is the ECU. hopefully the battery was disconnected while the exhaust was being welded up. In my personal experience, the only time I ever had no fire when I could still crank over was with a bad ecu.

Drowing his sorrows with that keg.

I know nothing about engines that have computers, but I'm sure it's something simple.
Keep us posted.

:idea:Did it throw any codes?

Thanks Keith for the Icky and pizza! I feel guilty however...since we couldn't get it started :frown:.

Very curious to learn about the problem however. I also second Shinichi's comment about how the exhaust system was welded and if the ECU/computer was isolated during the welding process.

At this point... It really could be anything in the electronic system. I'm stumped.
I did proceed to get fxxxered up after you guys left though, so at least that went as expected!! :D
Gotta love a hangover!
So today, I'm going to spend some time web wrenching and see if I can't figure something out.
Like I said though. The fact that she didn't start doesn't bug me that much, but that damn coolant leak chaps my ass something awful!

BTW, huge thanks to my BBCN brothers for the support and help afterwards!!!

You will get her to run, just start to systematicly check all connections and work your way from there.

I stopped taking to much alcohol since the hangovers started to take longer to go away.

Sooooo desert lake (will) came by today and kinda re traced everything we did last night. Another friend dropped off his OBD scanner. When we plugged that in, it said there were no codes stored in the ECU. So to start... I picked up a crank position sensor to rule that out. No go. Returned that and picked up a test light. Checked the power wire going to the coil. Lit the bulb. Then I decided to test the wire that supply's the signal from the ECU and cranked the motor... Nothing.
So now I'm kinda thinking it's the ECU, like mentioned earlier.
Could it be possible that I got an "empty" ECU from Howell? If the ECU had not been isolated, would that ultimately fry the comp? I disconnected the power to the ECU, but did not d/c the battery.

I'll have to call Howell tomorrow.

From where I sit - the big clue is that it did fire up to begin with . . .

Watcha thinking???

I'm not sure, but I fried all my blinker and parking light bulbs and my oil pressure gauge by welding on the frame. and that was with the key off.

I would think the OBD scanner would have given you an error rather than "no codes" if the computer was fried.

Wish there was a direct path to the fault with that "big" clue.
I'm just thinking that 1 - it fired up and 2 - whatever killed the spark didn't leave a code.
With those facts to work with my best guess would be a broken connection/wire/fuse/switch.
Wish I was near . . .

Its good you're working with Howell. They will take the time to trouble shoot with you, and will stand behind their product. Hopefully, it is something frustratingly simple.

That's what I hope as well. I can't imagine that is won't be. Just anxious. I just can't sit idle when there's an issue like this. It drives me nuts.
