I've been running HEI for decades in my many sbc's and only had a couple modules fail. I usually steal a module from one of my spare gm HEI distributors. If that's not available, I go to Standard Motor Products for caps, rotors, and parts like modules and such or GM.

It seems I've been reading that there's been a lot of failures with the dui modules.

Almost any parts store in the country should have one. Either a 4 pin or a 5 I think. Be sure to put the diaelectic grease on the mounting surface.

I think you'll want heat sink paste. Modules get hot cuz there's no air circuation inside the distributor.

Performance makes one. Been running it for almost 30 years.

They do, however the more I've looked into it some brands are better or more reliable. The last time I put one in I was lucky and found NOS AC Delco but I haven't found any that were made in the U.S. this time.

That's one of the brands that seemed to rate high in terms of reliability. I'm keeping that in mind.

I’ve only had one fail in 30 years. I also ran a MSD 6a box for years also until it shorted out. Then back to the old module under the cap. Still works lots of thermal grease. Not dielectric like most shops these days will recommend.
I grabbed a few spares from the junk yard I keep in my tools box who knows if they work on not.

So way back in the day the state's chief mechanic told me black boxes can go bad new in the box on the shelf. If they go out while you are driving (has happened to me several times) try swatting it with a hammer, if it starts drive it right to the shop/parts store without turning it off that trick will only work once per black box,

I have only been stranded once with points. The points arm broke off on a Dodge 318 dump truck - no spare parts were allowed.

I carry a spare set of points/condenser plus a cap and rotor. Also the longest spark lead. Have a points file with a feelers gauge.
Setting's are written in grease pencil underside of the hood
