I'm looking for a set of cheap seat covers to use while I save up for an Lseat set of replacement leather. Not asking for much, just something that stays in place fairly well. I saw a set of these on an SUV in a parking lot and they looked great, but my guess is they were the custom fit version. For the price ($25-$50) I'm thinking I'll give the universal covers a shot, but I wanted to see if anyone else had opinions (and hopefully photos) of covers in this price range.

Trail Gear Version from Cabela's. $25 each for the fronts. They last a few years as long as you don;t actually cut holes for the seat controls. If you cut the holes for access, they only last about a year.

Waterproof and fairly durable. Best to remove the seat for a good install.

Did you end up getting the universal covers from FH? If so, which ones specifically did you get and how do they fit?

Installed some $20 neoprene seat covers from Walmart. Removed seats and pulled of all trim pieces then covers then reinstalled trim and back. Fit nice. We'll see how long they last. Added rear air chuck as well

I got the neoprene ones from Walmart. Think they were $20 each. I took out the seats and removed the backing and plastic trim, installed the covers and put back in the trim and back. They look great and fit well. Have held up well. I used some velcro strap on certain parts to tighten up the fit.

Cabela's but my experience differs from @BILT4ME in that mine have lasted well over 2 years with absolutely no tears, no defects and still working great. I have used these now on 3 different 80s. Can't go wrong at $19.99.
And yeah, best to remove the seat on install for best fitment

I'm looking for this too... saw some for $400/seat here to replace the original's cloth and that seems way too steep:

For less than that price, might go for something like this instead, some seat covers with a MOLLE platform:

Anyway, curious if folks have run across anyone that does similar-to-OEM replacement cloth seat covers? Or know what having a shop redo them would cost, roughly speaking?

The PO had installed Cabelas Trailgear seat covers in my 60. Been a few years ago and they are still going strong. Exception being I may need to replace the side lacing which has deteriorated but no big deal.

They are an excellent quality/durability value so I just put a set in the Dodge.

Those look great! Well done. I have never taken the seats out before. Is there a guide or reference that would be recommended to make it easier?

What are you guys using for the back seat? I have one of the last sets of Shane's leather and I'd like to keep it nice and safe from mud and dogs paws on the rare occasion they have to ride in the 80. I throw the Cabelas TrailGear on the fronts when I go to the woods. They are great for the purpose I intended, and I don't feel the urge to get them off immediately once home. After everything is cleaned up over a few days, I get around to pulling them off. Great $40 solution to keep the fronts nice and can feel seat heaters through them. I just need something for the rear.

I did, these are the ones I ordered. You might notice what I didn't before placing the order; the rear cover isn't compatible with a split rear seat :censor:

For the $20 I paid I'd say they're well worth it, even just for the fronts. I put them on with the seats in the vehicle and they're ok, but I think they're be much better when I pull the seats and fasten them completely. Still no replacement for new leather but for $20 these will definitely get me by.

cabelas going strong for 2+ years in my DD for $30

Has anyone tried the Cabela's neoprene? I want to get a set of either those (that I lean towards) or the trailgear but since I don't have a Cabela's near by see them in person I was hoping someone had some experience.
