I doubt I'll get a RTT anytime soon. They seem like more of a pain than they're worth - unless we do some extreme camping (I can set up my current tent very quickly). I really don't know what good a drop down side will do just yet, it was a challenge that I posed to Adam since I don't see anyone doing it right now. I wanted higher rails on the rack and I wanted an even height on the forward and rear rails for hauling a longboard. The drop down side will be convenient for heavy stuff, like the spare tire. OH! That's another thing... Swing out rear bumpers are pretty expensive and I'm generally not a fan of them regardless of cost. The rack is a cheaper way of gaining some ground clearance (a place for the spare tire) and having somewhere to put your gas cans and smelly stuff. And this vehicle didn't fit in my garage anyway. :)

Finally have Penelope Cruzer back home in Charleston. I'm happy with the rack although I'm second guessing not just buying a flat BajaRack... It would have been more convenient for carrying surfboards... Still, this thing is solid and looks good!

Received the OME Medium 2.5" suspension the other day, should have it installed this week.

Also picked up some Cruisin' Offroad skid plates. These things are pretty dang beefy! They should provide some good protection at GSMTR in a few weeks.

A welcome addition to the family! This Hundy is a very capable vehicle with many upgrades. Almost too nice to take on the trails… Almost…

Really like the roof rack. Im probably coming to the 80 world shortly due to life events. Id love to see more phots of that rack. Great looking truck!

Thanks for the compliments! I'll take some more pictures of the rack this weekend, the method of mounting it to the roof is pretty unique and in my estimation, better than mounting to the rain gutters. It's STUPID heavy, but very solid. Welcome to the world of the 80 Series! I love these trucks, they are my favorite. I'll be picking up a 40 at the end of the summer, we'll have to share tips.

Something's wrong with your 100. It has an awful Clemson sticker on the back window...

OH, that sticker was scraped off shortly after I bought the truck!

Here are the pictures of the rack you asked for.

Are the racks feet using the same nutserts that the OEM rack was. If so, you might want to rethink this and add some additional gutter type feet to support the rack and it's contents, like the spare tire. Just my opinion, other than that concern it looks nice and well made.

No, the old nutserts were removed and replaced with slightly larger/stronger nutserts and bolts. It is mounted to the OEM support pad. I had a concern for shear loads as well as stability after it was fabricated… It's very heavy (about 150 lbs), so I was also concerned about whether the roof structure could support it. It's a good suggestion, though, and something I plan to do when I can get it back to Florida! I'm curious, do you have a concern specifically about what is wrong with the setup? Or just that it would be unstable with large loads? I appreciate the comment. Happy 4th!!

Just that the OEM nutserts are not good for any structural loading, with you carrying your spare tire on the rack in sudden braking maneuvers there will be substantial loads placed on those bolts/nuts and I would not trust the OEM nutserts for that type of load. Once more just MY opinion.

Awesome to see another Charleston LC guy. Hope to see you on the road.
