Well....got it all installed and it is working just how it is supposed to...Idled in the driveway. Key off on H. Started it up and went to C. Warmed up and went into the "operating range." Thanks for the help guys

Some bad news though. Drove it to the parts store and it died on the way there. It was running like it was cold and then it died. Sat on the side of the road and felt sorry for myself.....and then it started up again. Turned around and limped halfway home and it died again. Two Hillbiillies offered to pull me home.....then tried to charge me 10 bux to do it. I said no thanks and they said they would pull me home anyway. Towed me home at 40 MPH :flipoff2::mad:and stopped a little short of my house and I told them I was good where we were. Sat for about an hour and it started after several tries. Drove home stalling, bucking and sputtering for 4 blocks. Died two houses from my house. Pushed it into the garage and there it sits.......

Getting plenty of fuel to the carb. Absolutley NO spark.

Checked coil, wires and all that are involved with the FSM. All are within range. Not sure how to change out the points and condenser, so I will youtube it. Popped the dizzy cap and thought the wire circled in yellow was a little fried looking. What is it and could it be the culprit?

I have a FJ60 set up with dented side panel, but dont want to go that route yet. Hoping for an easy fix so I can drive the 40 before winter months get here and the salty roads force it to be garaged....I will change it over to the newerset up this winter...

Pull your rotor off, and take another picture. I thought the large cap 60 dizzy was all electronic? I'm probably wrong...A pertronix is a real simple procedure if you want that swap. I keep a set of points in my glovebox though in case my pertronix fails...

I mean I have a 60 set up to change out with the existing one at some point. Currently the dizzy is the one for the 77 2F.....

Gotcha...Points are just a few bucks, and an easy swap.
