I have chrome wheels on my LX. It's really the last of the bling on this truck. I've called several chrome shops and they say they can strip the chrome.
What are some economical options of acheiving this?

C'mon man! Keep em!!! They are Hotttt :D

If mine looked that good I would consider it. Mine look like CRAP compared to yours.

I think it might be cheaper to have a paint/body shop or powdercoat place just sand blast 'em. Make sure you clear coat or paint/ powdercoat them afterwards though.

I want to do the same thing, I liked my chromed wheels up to the point I lost one of the caps. Let me know what you end up doing, and how much it cost you. :flipoff2:

Called a chrome shop today. To strip and re-chrome in black chrome would be $275/wheel:eek:

$1375 total!!!!!

I'll keep looking for other options.

Keep 'em! or I'll trade you for some unpainted stock, LX wheels!

I would think you could get all four of them sand blasted for $275 or probably less. Then $20 in spray paint and rattle can those bastards.

Ulysses, check your PM, I am ready to take a chrome off of you. Plus we live like 10 miles aprart.
I can't help you out standfas;3198610 because yours are LX with the groove.

Steel wool and a rattle can.

scratch'em up with a Scoth-brite pad (Grey), wipe down with grease-n-wax remover OR thinner, shoot'em with some self-etching primer from a rattle can and spray'em with your color of choice...easy
