Can I get it upholstered in kevlar, while we're on the subject?
 
Can you make these out of stainless and skip the POR 15?

We've tried that, and we still might try it again, but the weight and rigidity in the necessary gauge doesn't work well.
 
Damn that is awesome. I like it better than with the original chrome strip. Couldn't replace the carpet on the lower plastic part or is it just the lighting?
 
At $350 a pop there is just no way I could justify it unless there were a couple of alternating Kevlar/resin layers in there, which I can get.

It's a very cool mod though. Two snaps in Z formation.

Chromed 1/2 rd. can be added, My truck is mostly deblinged. Carpet is original on that one.

Does it go on the door with those plastic clips?

We've tried several different clips, like zinc and rubber coated, but the OEM plastic clip works fine.
