Carb / Brake Master Clearance issues... Ideas?

Thanks Rigger. I have read this thread. Good ideas in here. My issue is the rib in the firewall and I'm not going to modify that rib, so I am currently sourcing an F carb.

The 2F carb has the vacuum advance that sticks out and interferes with the master cylinder.

Or if I could find a MC that is shorter than 5 5/8"....

Same problem here so I dumped the mini truck booster and returned to manual 4 wheel disc brakes, for now. I am considering hydro boost as an option for better braking. Any opinions?

I purchased and am awaiting delivery of a rebuilt F carb from Mark at Mark's Offroad. Not cheap, but the only thing standing between me and driving this vehicle. Once it is in place, it will be the key to this problem, and will allow me to have a booster, dual circuit brake master cylinder, and factory carb (with proper carb spacer) and air cleaner.

I don't have to rig anything, cut anything down, etc, plus I have the safety of a boosted 4 wheel disk brake system with redundancy in the unlikely event that one of the circuits fails.

I'll report back one I get it and install it.

Best $$$ I spent buying one of Mark's carbs. Installed and primed it, fired right up and purred like a kitten!

I am happy to report that I have received a beautifully rebuilt 1973 F carb from Mark @65swb45. Thanks Mark!

Now I just need to find the unobtanium studs so I can mount it. Didn't realize that until I went and purchased the bolt long enough to fit and went.... ohhhh, those will not even go into the holes due to clearance issues on 3 sides.

So, who knows where I can source the studs? They are about 55-60 mm long x 8mm x 1.25 thread, with at least 12 mm on the bottom part of the stud that goes into the intake manifold.

Here is the F carb fitted up to the motor. New studs from Toyota. Lots of clearance. Master looks like it is hitting but it's not tightened up all the way. It does move another 1/2" to the right and up when tight.
