See this thread.. These were 63-68ish? I have some in the garage as does Chef but it took us YEARS to find good specimens and they need a bit of work as well.. I'm guessing Hiles plating would cost me replating fees compared to what these are new.. I'll spearhead the buy etc if you all want.. Still trying to decide which direction to go.. I have driveplates sitting in the garage if I really want to go old school look.. Or I can install lockouts.

Charles you posted in that thread. Chef I know your in.. We need to decide how many of which and if we want to run lockouts or plates. If I run plates then i probably only need 5 (enclosed).. if I run lockouts I need 6, (one spare of each) if I want to switch back and forth I need 8 (five enclosed and 3 open).. Or I can look at what I have in the stash to start with..

It's sad when I start talking about $500 in hubcaps for a vehicle that won't be driving for a while.

Also.. Old school running boards.. I have a great set of the short ones, which were offered on fixed top FJ45's and FJ25's but apparently not on removable top 45's or later 40's. These have a lip that mounts on them to hold a diamond shaped rubber insert. THe later ones from like 68 and newer had the diamond plate built into the running boards. .Kelly gave me a set of these longer ones but they need a lot of work.. and with the possibility of new.. and not having to fix the others this option looks very good.. I know Chef will need one set and i need a set.. I'll offer to arrange the same thing for these as well..

It's all about the chase.. Chasing down the parts to make it right.. Those that have seen my garage understand that i've been in this chase for a long time. And honestly the running boards were about the last thing in the chase for me.

I'm probably in for 6 hubcaps.
3 solid, three for lockouts. I'll be running aisins.

The steps don't concern me, as my 67 vintage cab doesn't use the shorter, capped steps, but rather the longer, late model steps.

Chef.. These are the longer ones. What i sent you neither of us can use now..
From my recollection yours SHOULD use the longer capped steps like these getting repro'd. Vintage correct with correct rubber insert.

I'm out. My eyes are bigger than my budget. I was already thinking about my next project with two unfinished projects in process.

So currently we have

Chef 3 open 3 closed
Rob 3 open 3 closed
Me 3 open 3 closed..
THis thread will close soon so please notify me of your intentions ASAP..

I will split up shipping based on the # of caps.
There is no definite cost per cap yet, anticipate approx $75 or less? per cap? We'll see what the final cost per is after the final # is released.

Currently 18 caps, 9 of each.

I'll be honest.. I've paid more per cap before! as has chef.. but to replate them would be about 30-50 per cap i'm guessing.

ALright boys.. Once the producer comes up with how he wants to be paid we can roll..
You two ok with me doing a bigger order to cover the 3 of us or do you two want to do your own thing? It might save us a bit on shipping and move us up higher in line purchasing 18 caps.

Thank you mr president.. I didn't want to overstep my boundaries. :)
Just wanting us to get the toys we need .. WEll we want. we really dont' need to spend $400 on hubcaps but who really cares.. it's a safer hobby than crack.. Unless your jobe and roll without harnesses.

we're good to go apparently. will chat with each of you.. looking like 65 per cap plus approx 30 shipping
if you want paypal we gotta up it a touch. I can take it all and send one check or we can send each.
like i said.. i'll be calling you to discuss.. dump your penny jars and get ready.. looking like a month or so out.

i would estimate it is probably cheaper for us to pay via check and save the paypal juice. pm sent to seller to finalize his ideas.
