welcome back ... looking forward to seeing how you patch up that tub ... I'm sure the diesel will purr like it should ...

I'm pretty excited to get back to this. Going over the previous posts I've realized how much plans change haha.

Yesterday I started measuring the body and decided to build it with sharper corners rather then round bends. Since I'm remaking it I thought I might as well add in my own touches. I'm planning on some neat beadrolling on the floor pans. Tomorrow or Monday I'll hopefully be sending my DXF files to get laser cut.

Thanks for the pointers Alberta Mac. I'd like to beef a few parts of the body up like you chose to. Like I said, plans change pretty quick so I may end up going with the factory thicknesses you posted.

Thanks Winnie. I'll be looking over the engine this month before I pull it off the frame so I will know soonish if it still runs even haha. This is my third 3B and even though I've had so small issues they've never let me down. That includes driving almost 100kms with little to no oil...

We'll see what this coming week will bring.

What a mess.

Good to see another one getting saved! I started my diesel swap last summer, which turned into a full frame off rebuild! You might find some useful info in my build thread when trying to re-make body parts by hand - I've done quite a bit of that so far. I made a 16" bending brake that has made the work simple! I re-made the entire rear sill as well as the rear sill horns, and I am also in the process of re-building the main beam. Check out the link in my sig.
