1988 fj62. Appears to have small crack below engine temperature switch and is weeping coolant. Used upper housings seem crazy expensive. Anyone know if there’s a decent way to repair the crack?

typically NO ,

- since the crack is starting at the TREADA and moving out-ward it will only further spread , as time goes on

- that area of the housing is a BOSS and Very thick ...?

- who installed the new sensor , using a 1/2" drive breaker bar ..........

where have you looked?

usually the bottom is bad, so extra uppers around
