Sweet technology! And the install looks nice! However, I thought the ability of this RTT to go under/through trees branches was a good selling point!

Nothing has changed. The new panel is more durable then a frame constructed panel. I ran a framed mounted panel for several years with zero issues.

Now that you will be camping in the sun. (Do you have to face west in the eve?) Are you considering an awning?

I see no need to camp in the sun. I set up at the end of the day or dark and Im gone by 7AM:meh:(CampTeq advantage;)) but I do try to park facing east for the night. With the CampTeq open the panel starts making power the minute the sun comes over the mountains when it is needed most.

I want to make a portable solar panel for my outings. Can you provide details on the panel and the controller? Where did you get your panel and controller? Thanks for the information on the tape. I def need tape that holds up in the heat:)
I would not recommend my present set up for a portable set-up. The systems I set-up for Rudster, ManuelSV, and others would be must better suited for your needs.

Are campteqs still being manufactured? Those things are pretty cool for solo camping!! I want one!

Not at this time.
FWIW Im the only solo set up and non-roof cut set up. All other CampTeqs are used for two people ,have the roofs cut, and find it comfortable to travel the world.

Latest CampTeq addition

Custom front swaybar disconnects (new version)

Without swaybar disconnects I could lift a front wheel 26" before another wheel lifted

With front swaybar disconnected I get an increase of 4.5" or 30 1/2" inches = ~15% increase

Surprising results for just disconnecting the swaybar

To disconnect and connect the front sway can be done 1 -2 minutes.

The mod also adds a higher degree of safety by keeping the wheels planted in more extreme condition with additional traction.

Pictures are with the swaybar disconnected

Latest - Installed new solar controller, Morningstar PS-30M. The new controller gives me a read out of current battery voltage and the amount of power the solar panel is producing. I can also measure the load that is plugged into a newly installed 12volt outlet for power usage.

I also added a new comfort pillow from an excellent Swiss designed expedition company called EXPED. I needed at least a 4" tall pillow and the inflatable Exped comfort pillow was an excellent choice. The CampTeq only has limited space available inside. The pillow deflates to under 2" very easy and inflates with one strong breath. I added a custom pillow case to match.:princess:

My 1 year CampTeq anniversary!

How CampTeq has changed my life

In the last year -

Lost 40lbs of body weight
Spent 50+ nights in my CampTeq
Many more travel miles over previous years
Gained 100+ hours of time in setting up/down camp

It not uncommon for me to drive until I drop (the CampTeq way) set up camp in 1 minute and gone in the AM just after sunrise in 2 minutes.

Additions -

Heated the mattress Sleeping at 15° has never been so sweet
100 watts of solar on top
LED Interiour light
Additional snaps so I can roll the screen out of the way when not needed

Yesterday I was talking with Eric the owner builder of CampTeq and he asked what I would change.
The only thing I would and will change is a rain awning over my rear window (one off option). With Arizona summer monsoon storms I need ventilation and without an awning I cannot open my rear window in the rain.

:moon:Looking good Phil. I may need to check in to the Campteq diet plan, I could still stand to lose another 40 pounds. Camping out for 50 nights is a ton of evaluation time and with all that you would only change one thing, speaks volumes about the quality and usability.

Keep posting more pictures of your adventures.
