Selling that SC would probably fund quite a bit of the LS swap. That said, in your shoes I'd probably do some basic stuff (leak down, bore scope, etc) to see how terminal the 1FZ issues might be. Good luck - it's a great rig!

I’m going to try some time in the next few weeks to get this drivetrain pulled. I am working on getting my 60 running again and it and my 40 sold. It’s graduation season as well as I have a little one. I retired from the Marine Corps four years ago and seemed to get busier somehow. I guess it’s time to hire a nanny this summer so I can get this swap done.

I have had several inquiries into purchasing the supercharger. I will 100% be selling it. My plan is to sell the motor with the supercharger and intercooler and all of the electrical and extra things attached. This way the buyer has absolutely everything they will need, to include the engine harness that Darren had replaced with the splice in for the SC. I will also be including the associated AEM gauges, LandTank Scaled Injector Kit and associated parts. This will allow you to do the HG and drop in or pull everything and put it in your motor. Either way, this will be the easiest way to do this for me. If that interests you, shoot me a PM. I have a ballpark price of $8500 in mind, but not 100% sure what the right price is yet.

So…..I’m going to start chipping away at this. May be an hour here and there, but decided to just get it done when I have time. I love having an 80 and sold the rest of my stable to buy my wife a car (promised her a new one a dozen cruisers ago). I’m going to hopefully pick up a Tacoma in the next two weeks for daily duties, so the 80 is going to stay. SC and IC will hopefully be off the motor by the end of next week to include all wiring, the blue sea fuse box and injectors and then I will be selling those. Stoked to finally get rolling. Life is hectic, but an 80 makes it better. Haha.

Not a whole lot to report, but I’m making progress. Maybe in a few weeks it will finally be running.

I bet the actually SC was tough to remove. The red 518 loctite we used is no joke. Glad it's coming along. Wish you were closer so I can help.

I appreciate it. It was just time consuming and the 100 degree heat didn’t help. It’s coming along atleast. Hopefully I can have the head off next week and get it back together the next two weeks. Then it’s on to the dual battery, hitch and speakers/stereo.

What speaker/stereo do you have in mind? If you don't want to let the cat out the bag. . I can wait.

I don’t have anything particular in mind yet. Haha. I have an old CarPlay unit here I may throw in and not sure on speakers and amp yet. I was looking into that Atoto you used in your chop too.

I’m not seeing any cracks in the head or broken spots in the gasket other than it looking burnt. Would the blown head gasket cause the 6 cylinder to look new like that? I’m assuming so.

Scouring it with coolant usually so it "steams" off the oil and residue, so yeah, sometimes they look like that.

Aluminum heads are deceiving when it comes to cracks. Might not be able to see a crack at room temp, but it is there. Machine shops have equipment to heat the head and test for that.

Head is at the machine shop getting worked and a valve job. Need to order a few parts from Partsouq and the injectors rebuilt, but hopefully it will be up and running again in a few weeks.

On another note, has anyone tried out the Huracan Fabrication Premium Touring Seats. I have a jacked up back (Finally got my nerve endings on my lower spine burnt today) and just need straight up comfort in the seats. I love the cloth seats, so looking at foam options, but looking other ways too. Not sure I can justify School-mann money.

Also, if anyone has a stock MAF they are interested in selling, I am looking. Thank you.

I only had 15K miles on my rebuild before my HG blew at cylinder 6. @White Sheep and I had our engines rebuilt in 2021 at about the same time but my two different shops.

Here's my LCEngineering HG

I replaced it with a Toyota Gen 2 HG

The common failure points (triangles) have been replaced with smaller circles.
