Hey guys

Buying a brand new LC200, I admittedly don’t off-road, yet at least, I only do maybe 5-7,000 miles a year, just wondering should I add the extended warranty (and maintenance) to the deal?
If so what years/miles would you pick and what’s expected as a good price

one option was 6 year/75,000 miles zero $ deductible and extended maintenance packet $2999

there are other options just want everyone’s thoughts! I take good care of my vehicles and I know they are reliable but spending this much might as well do it right

You can add a warranty later, so I'd just wait until the factory one is over to see how you feel about it then. No point in parting with your money now, and if you're financing there is no point in paying interest on something you may never need or use.

I second on the extended warranty, but would recommend looking at options just PRIOR to your factory warranty ending. Regarding maintenance, that is up to you but a lot on this forum do their own maintenance. The nice thing about dealership maintenance is that they keep record. The bad is that you don't know exactly who is working on your truck,... but it is warrantied (mostly).

I think @Eric Sarjeant can give you better deal on extended warranty if you decide to go that route??

If you are getting a Land Cruiser and drive so little, then i would NOT get any extended warranty. If you are getting an LX, then i would get one.

Lol I’m missing something

Anyways thanks for the replies guys
I think someone was offended about an LX comment, what do i know i own an FJ60 and a couple 4runner's.:meh:
To answer the OP question and this is just my 2 cents and don't be offended, it's a waste of money if you are not driving the 200 that much the warranty will age out before you know it spend the money on some gadgets or accessories.

Sounds good to me!
Just thought I’d ask! I’m still laughing about the blow up earlier with the LC vs LX debate never knew it was so heated lol

Same here never heard of any kind of heated discussion as far as LC and LX is the topic, maybe it's similar to a Chevy and GMC or a Ford and Lincoln?
Post some pics of your new LC when you get it, i would probably could never afford one in ten years.:frown:

Your buying a new cruiser. No do not buy an extended warranty. Waste of money, they don’t break down very often at all. I received a free Life time power train warranty when I purchased mine.

Do what makes you happy. If you've got the disposable income and don't want to worry about anything.....

Toyotas break sometimes.

The dealer offered me the 6 year extended warranty for like $1750 and I took it. I'm not too worried about the mechanical components on the 200, its the 10+ computers that have the potential to turn into a costly repair (even DIY).

how many miles?

how many miles?

I just pulled the sales docs. It was actually $2150 for 6 year to 100,000 mi. Worth the piece of mind to me.

I agree, wait until the factory warranty is about to expire and then reevaluate. Also, LX owner here and I take no offense :) I bought an extended warranty when I bought my used 2013 last year. Already paid for itself after the parking sensor ECU went out. Almost 4K at dealer for new sensors, ECU and labor. Cost me $50 deductible. I bought specifically for electronics though I will admit parking sensors ECU never crossed my mind.

Hey sorry again but what is the deductible...I think that’s as important as mileage in the small print
