some things that my big block full sized friends always seem to comment on.
the size of, the inner axles, bearings, U-joints and drive shaft size, steering arms (after market more then stock).
the 6 bolt rims.
and mostly (I usually have to get out the manual to prove it), is that they are a true 1/2 ton truck. at least our 85's are.
Our club had the jeep vs Toyota talk. I offered to put a stock 85 Toyota up against any other stock truck for wheeling. I further stated that I thought the Toyota was the toughest, cheapest, stock truck ever offered to the general public for wheeling.
Well you can imagine what happened!!
the only one that stood a chance was some obscure Mercedes SUV offered at that time that came with lockers front and rear and cost as much, even back then as my house!!!
