Been tooling away on the other truck. Sophie was feeling a bit neglected so I gave her a bath. I’ll hit her with a clay bar once the weather brightens up a bit.

I have a real itch right now to SaS a 100. ;)

Cheers

As much as I would love that, the green truck is not a keeper. It needs a bit too much loving in other areas to warrant the work of a SAS. I’m hoping to find a nice JDM HDJ101 VX for my next truck.

The result of a cracked battery:

Spent a day on cleaning the area with concentrated simple green to neutralize the acid and debriding destroyed paint.

Used metal prep and applied liberal coats of por15. hopefully I don’t have to deal with this again.

Ordered some battery mats for all my trucks. As insurance.

Feel your pain here, I had the joy of this happening on my 911. Even more fun because the battery box is conveniently placed over suspension attachment points that are only really fully accessible with a lot of cutting!

Well now a play date is very possible for our kids! Safe travels... and that Cruiser looks good even in tow.

Question for you...
I see lots of folks with Pelican (or similar) rifle cases up on their roof racks. What do you keep up there? I'm assuming you secured it to the crossbars through the interior-bottom of the case, right?

I use ratchet straps to hold mine. Some people drill, but to me it defeats the purpose of a waterproof box.

I have a lot of pelicans which serve many purposes. My long gun box has:
A full size spade, 10x10 tarp, snatch strap, winch line extension, recovery blankets, some shackles, snatch block, massif pants/jacket, socks, gloves.

Well, at least you are on the right coast and out of the misery of the mid-west.

Come to Rubithon in June. You will learn how to wheel for real. ;)

Good luck with relocation.

I may ask a friend to tag along this year depending on my work. If so I hope we can shake hands and have a beer.

We’re super excited for the move. Thank you for the warm wishes!

As always, too much fun not enough time. Opted for a relaxing scenic route. One full day: Canyonlands (Island in the Sky, Dead Horse), and Arches National park.

So I’m not running sway bars (PO must have removed them). I’ve personally never felt I needed them on the road, even when really heavy. That said, I really feel like my truck flexes really well for a 70. Activated the lockers, they still work.

Can’t beat Moab for a mid way stop!

For sure! We wanted to stay another day, but a snow storm is expected to hit the Sierra-Nevada’s on Saturday which would leave us stuck in Reno for a week. However, my Son and I will be flying to Indiana to pickup my 100 to drive back. May hit a trail in CO, Moab, and Rt50 across NV.
