You didn't change the game because of my thread did you? I'm just a bored out of work father of 2 looking for something new to do with all this time I have.

No and we don't want to discourage your activities or your creativeness.

Besides, it wasn't me who changed the rules. The change came down from mount olympmud as this has become more of a deal in all the sections

Right on, I'm not trying to pull any trickery here at all.

We didn't think so. Who knows maybe you will end up creating a business right here on Mud

If you have a new design, feel free to post how you are making it and ask opinions as long as the tone is tech. If people start saying I want them, then direct them to your sales thread you will build with different products. When the talk gets to ordering, making custom etc, salsey, then shut it down and redirect them

Fair enough?

Understood Romer, I'll go ahead and shoot you a PM then UnderDawg.

Waiting on dies to show up today *fingers crossed* and going to buy one of these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000WUQI4/?tag=ihco-20 looks like a great little saw. Read a bunch of reviews and seems no one dislikes it. Also picking up some more plate for a front bumper build. Nice to have a reason to get up in the morning :smokin:

We use those saws at work, and if you have the space I think you could make cuts easier and with more precision with a band saw. Get a Taiwan made model on Craigslist for about what your going to pay for that. If it was me I would look for the Horizontal model. They work great for exhaust work as well.

I've got a horizontal band saw it only cuts up to like 7" wide. I like this saw because I can buy sheets on metal and rip it down to whatever I need. And I dont have to pay a cut fee at the metal shop. I've seen these cut to 3/4" no problem ever 1". What's your experience with it? Any draw backs? How's blade life?

We used it briefly to cut 3/4 50x50 plates. It's slow and loud, but did an alright job. Lot nicer surface then Acetylene.
Ours went thru tons of blades, but it might be due to the operator going to fast.
We used Morse Metal Devil 48T 9" OD Blades

I just picked one up at a shop for $265.00 same model. Grabbed an extra blade too. Just got it as a extra way to cut plate and what not. Milwaukee makes some good tools.

What are you cutting over 7" that you can't have sheared?

Nothing but when you have multiple pieces needing cut that adds up real quick. I've been cutting with the saw today and all I can say is wow. Its a cold saw and produces chips not dust. I really dig it.
Made a stand for the bender out of 1/2" plate and a piece of 3"x3"x1/8" square tube. Got a bunch of pieces cut today for other projects too.
Was 90 here today so I just cut and worked on organizing my tools. Welding tomorrow will post up some pics of what I got thus far. Been running in all directions trying to get all my ducks in a row with this transition.

Got my bender all squared away and finished the stand for it. Used the Redhead inserts for the concrete with 1/2" grade 8 bolts to hold it down. I can take the bolts out and move the bender whenever I need to which is really cool.

Couple pics

Got this old Atlas drill press up on the work bench for now pretty cool.

Picture time again

This is the first one I built... all done finally. 2 coats of zinc primer and 2 coats of gloss black enamel.

This one is going to my other thread in the merchant section for sale check it out.
