I'll be leaving midmorning on Friday. I'm meeting my brother in Alma then we will head up the pass road.

Still planning on camping at Cooney Lake Friday night?

I'll be 0n the Badger Mountain Repeater at 4.

If we get to BV early Saturday You guys can always go on ahead while I wait for the boys and we can join you up on the trails.

Cooney Lake sounds fine, I updated the first post. I'll be monitoring the MARC system. Likely leaving town after lunch sometime. I'll call out for you at 3pm since I think Luke may not come out until Sat.

Not gonna make it guys :(

Overall a good weekend. Went up to Cooney Lake on Friday Over mosquito Pass Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon we went up to Hancock lake and camped near there. Sunday Over Hancock pass then on to the Alpine tunnel for lunch and Over Williams pass. Got back to Colorado Springs Sunday night.
Pluses. Beautiful scenery Camping with the crew and good campfire conversations. Meeting up with Dave and his family (a cruiser enthusiast from BV) on the road.
My son took his stock 60 up Williams and made it with one blown tire and a couple of pulls from me using a strap. That was a tough road for a newbe with a stock rig but he did OK.
Minuses Flopped the 40 on its side on a simple dirt road, broke two windows and some damage to the top, window frames and front fender not to mention my pride. Leon and Luke came to rescue and got me back on 4 wheels.
Picture to follow.

Once we got all the tension on the 40 we could, without dragging if further, we got several people to set it upright. We then got a strap and pulled it up the hill a short bit to get it safely back on all four.

Nice pics - wish I could've made it! So what's the story on the flop??

Travis, I was wishing you were there so I could have seen the 100 squeeze through the tight trails up there :) lots of undercarriage grabbing rocks on Williams pass, skidplate would have been tested for sure.

I think Doug was looking for his radio to tell us something when the flop happened, something about a root grabbing the wheel out of his hands, and the rest you know. I think he was texting and driving....

I was testing my new inclinometer which being made in China wasn't accurate. Yeah thats the story and I'm sticking with it.

So I'm thinking of changing my Moniker from Pops to "Wholly Roller"
or Leon suggested "H82FLOP"
