should chop the liftgate, unless its sellable, and weld the piece on. Then it would be level across the top(and you'd still say Land Cruiser:D)

Thats what I am thinking. Either that or IM going to make a cap out of diamond plate, since thats what i am going to make the bed rails and panels out of eventually.

I say Mod the tailgate to fit. That way you have a nice finished look, plus wiper and deforster.... IMHO

Nah. part of the cut was to lose the weight from the heavy gate/glass/wiper motor/etc... So that part is definitely not going back in.

Got the spacers out of the front and trimmed the rears to level her out. Ended up taking 30" out of the springs. Also installed the ES3000's. Havent had a chance to drive it yet. Ill update on how she drive. I already like the new lower stance better though. Looks more "solid" ... plus I can hop in and out lickety split now. A girlfriend I had hanging out while I was working says its much easier to get in in a skirt too... haha. I should have got a picture of that.

I highly recommend having a large fire extinguisher near by :) (was it walking eagle that almost burnt down his cruiser from welding a fender?)

That looks great. Are you going to be keeping the back end as a sort of SUT or chopping off the back half? Are the back seats still gonna be useable or now effectively a 2 seater?

I am thinking about swapping out my front 850 coils and MAF 30mm spacer to get FOR coils and then run some custom shocks. Do you know how much just the front coils would be from FOR?

I am still figuring out exactly what I am going to do with the back end. Plans keeps changing as I progress. Initially I was going to bob it and make it a two seater. Then I had a few friends over today and realized how much more fun it would be as a four seater. So I think I am going to keep the full bed and the back seats now... which means I will have to modify the rear overhang I made today since it would be right on top of the rear passengers heads. I figure that out tomorrow. However, I do plan on making the bed "seperate" from the passenger compartment and line-x'ing the whole bed.

That would be sweet having a FZJ80 SUT of sorts!

On weekend long camping wheeling trips, i love jumping in with friends and taking a ride in nice rigs. Being able to take 4 others instead of one is just that much more fun :D

I like idea of cutting back hooking up rear tailgate part and sealing bottom, having a drawer system in back and cover the bed somehow so its sealed and wont get wet, you can still carry all people, a drawer full of gear in back and if really want you can make a rack for the back bed area for camping gear!!!!

Those middle row seats are too damn heavy and I don't want to put them back in. I am thinking of some kind of smaller, lighter back seat like one out of a wrangler or something that folds flat.

If the rear seats are not open to the back anymore and there is no need to have them fold like they do very easy to put in some different ones, maybe leave room in between for cooler or something like that. Or you could put in bench seat.

how un-nerving is it to be cutting off those wraps knowing they aren't going back on?

Just a tad, haha. Luckily I got it about perfect on the first try. Still just a hiar high in the rear. But I am going to wait until I get the rear cage and bed panels in before I shave off anymore.

Any chance we will get to see some pictures of the new stance?

So what would you say your lift height is now? It looks good!

Looks good. So you are back at 3.5" front and about 2.5" rear with the trimmed coils?

Hmmm. Decisions, decisions... this could be interesting:

Nah... already decided against it. But I am about to embark on some serious cutting. Bye bye bed.

I like rear bed, gives you some storage area! If you go with the above option then why even keep that rear window partat all. Either way you are documenting what I will be doing to mine eventually!
