brights

Went to turn on my brights the other night and got black. The regular head lights work. When I hit the brights neither the dash indicator nor brights come on. It actually shuts off the head lights completely.

Any help out there? Easy fix?

I'm guessing it might be in the column stick switch. I wouldn't know how to test it other than start replacing stuff.

Figured that the lights wouldn't come on at all but checked the fuse(good) and then pulled off the steering housing. Switched looked okay, but maybe not.
I guess I gonna get out the tester to explore the wires.

I was able to take it apart and then just bent a little metal piece to make it work, but maybe I should get one of those!

I was able to fix mine too. I love the old car thing. I might have been lucky tho. Right now my metal piece that runs the horn used to have a little pad, but that has worn away and it contacts with just the metal. What happens when I can't fix it! A lot of plastic in this piece.

One of those deals where you might be better off buying a new one and stashing it or popping for an aftermarket column.
