I have had vehicles registered as 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967. All have had the T67 brass tag on the lower right of the firewall tag. I have heard the date thing before, but I have never seen one with any other number on it. I currently have a 65 FJ45 (based on the VIN) with a T67 tag.

Short answer: I don't know.:)
My FJ45 SWB was made April 1964, has this T-66 tag…..

Whoa..........Interesting. If anyone has a T-65 tag out there, I'd be interested. The LV is missing it. Thanks
Not necessarily…your LV might have actually sold in the model year that it was manufactured. The earlier version of that tag was brass (aka brass tag’d 🙄) and the later version was aluminum and was attached to the VIN plate when the vehicle was actually sold sometimes this was several years later. This was likely due to the vehicles sitting on the dealer lots for a long time arguably due to the Post WWII sentiment towards Japan. Which is why there are some 40/45 series that the frame number indicates an earlier year than title and reflects the brass or aluminum tag.

So for @Texican ‘s truck it was made in ‘64 and then subsequently sold in ‘66. I’d be curious what his title says.

For sure unimoggy. Thank you. Ive heard and read that too. Along those lines...Interesting enough, my 66 SWB has the original vin plate and a T-66 brass tag attached. But, has the vertical side vent cover---unique to 65 only.
