Ok so my 1988 toyota pickup 4x4 is getting where I have to push the break further down to get it to stop...once it hits a certain spot theres no trouble with it stopping...pumping it some times gets the brake further up...Does this sound like my brake master cylinder?

No, it sounds to me like your rear brakes need to be adjusted. Does your e-brake work? Do you use it? Yanking on the e-brake occasionally is what keeps them in proper adjustment.

Yea I use my emergency brake everytime I park...I'm bout to put some bigger tires on it so figured I might get the brake deal checked out before I do that...I appreciate your help guys! Thanks!

While it could be your rear brakes are not self adjusting I would not rule out a loose front wheel bearing. When I had my issue with the rear drums pumping the rear brakes didn't matter.

You might wanna pop off the rear drums and make sure all the linkages are there and working OK, check that the teeth of star wheel on the adjuster are still OK. Then back the adjuster off till you can barely get the drum back on.

But a loose/worn front wheel bearing is also a good point. Excess runout on the front wheel will cause the rotor to wobble and push the pads back into the caliper, and you'll have to pump the pedal to get the calipers pushed back out.
