@lostmarbles has a '79 BJ40 and his parts are:
Brake Master 47201-60080 (tandem booster with one reservoir)
Brake Booster 44610-60030 (same as mine)
Can you confirm you have the same master as jgeoffr?
....

Hullo there Honger

I've added the part number for my brake master into your text above.. and it is different from the one jgeoffr has as you can see.

Kits are still available for mine (but not OEM) and the bore is 1 inch dia and 9 1/4 inches long if you want to compare this with yours.

Here's my master and the kit that's presently in it:

You can still buy this master of mine as "aftermarket".

I suspect this one that Peter (over in Australia) is offering is probably a PBR brand that, apart from the separate reservoirs and bottom-plugs, is identical to my AISIN (again with a 1" bore and 9 1/4" bore-length and accepting the same rebuild kit):

Whether they are single reservoir or dual reservoir is unimportant because the "single reservoir" has two separate chambers. In other words, the "single reservoir" has the same safety advantage of the dual in that it will keep one circuit operational if the other loses all its fluid - but has the advantage of "just one lid to pour the fluid into".

Here's my PBR-brand master that I keep in my spares stash now (again with 1" bore and 9 1/4" bore-length that uses the same kit posted above) :

It sure looks the same as what Pete's offering..

Hope this post helps (rather than just adding confusion).

Does anyone know if this booster works for four wheel disc brakes? I have factory disc on the front and aftermarket (Monte Carlo IIRC) brakes on the back. I have not made the firewall conversion on my 45LV yet, but was planning on swapping it for a section off of an FJ40.

Yes. I ran with the same one for about 18 years till the 25+ year old master wasn't working so hot. I replaced it with an 80 series booster and master.

Once the power steering goes in... your grandma could drive it (unless she can't push the clutch). The brakes are almost too strong with little input. :D

NOS Aisin 44610-60160 brake Booster available.
