Just ordered a set with 2850 fronts and 2864 rears. I really hope I made the right choice. Soo many options.

Look for the two drilled holes at the top of the shock body. Use a 5mm Allen key to keep the shock from rotating when adjusting the rebound/compression.The adjustment seems VERY stiff on these BP51s. Anyone else experienced this? I had to use a strap wrench and torque in the opposite direction to be able to adjust with the standard adjustment wrench the BP51s come with. I was able to adjust the fronts but still wrangling with the rear adjustments.
this definitely helps, but man wtf why aren't these just knobs. This is enough of a pita that I wish I'd bought the dobinsons.... but maybe i am just used to moto and mountain bikes... clicking knobs is so so SO much simpler.Look for the two drilled holes at the top of the shock body. Yeah I really wish they had knobs, so rather than wrangling with them every time I need to adjust I’ve just learned to live with them in a squishier setting. I haven’t tried the 5mm Allen key method yet and just use a strap wrench with force in the opposite direction when using the BP51 supplied adjusting wrench. Other than the PITA on the lack of ease on adjustability I do like the ride of BP51 shocks (and they look coolthis definitely helps, but man wtf why aren't these just knobs. Just crawled out from under my 80 adjusting these... it should take 3 seconds to adjust clicks.
just coming back to further state how much I hate adjusting these stupid shocks. LOL, I get it--your anger is justified here. Did you ever do a comparison of how much more the Dobinson's were than the BP51s? It's been a few years, but if my memory is correct I ended up going with the BP51s because they cost quite a bit less than the next step up as far as the external reservoir shocks lineup to choose from.just coming back to further state how much I hate adjusting these stupid shocks. Yup, i have that same one and i am still fighting with these stupid shocks.Have you guys ever tried this strap wrench? This is one of the best ones I've found. It has ridges on the inside that grip really well. It's made adjustments pretty easy under the circumstances...
