Bonnet Protector

We are also looking at Australian and European sources for side window wind/rain deflectors as an addition to the line-up. :)

Please keep posted on these, if you have pictures of styles and if any of them are in channel type especially. I wont clutter this bonnet thread with that, but will PM

PMs, clutter, BS and general social abuse most welcome as long as it is somehow related to tech..... :cheers:

Speaking of unicorns, anyone with a 73/74 interested in alternatives to sliding side windows, gaskets, runners, etc.?

QUESTION THREE - How many would you likely purchase within one year of arrival in North America?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since my track record for holding on to a particular Cruiser isn't very good, I reserve the right to change my vote from 1 to 2 on the above question.

When I had my 73 I got both my bonnet guard and polycarbonate headlight protectors (genuine toyota) off of ebay.au. My factory owners manual too.

I simply sent a request to the seller with postal code and asked if they would mail the item to Canada explaining that its difficult to get parts in NA and confirming that I wished to purchase. Many say its too expensive and yes add a lot to the purchase prices but if you want it - you can get it. Once they know you will pay its good. Only works great with buy it now though. Auctions were harder

I will take one of the protectors at flexible pricing in whatever flavor Onur voted for, assuming he voted for whatever is the most OEM!

I haven't been keeping up with this thread but I wanted to say again that I am interested in the bonnet should you decide to batch ship them over here for resell.

I wish there was a way to edit my own posts. I meant bonnet protector, not bonnet as in the hood itself. I really need to learn the Aussie terminology as I am not familiar with it.

UK and Commonwealth Bonnet = Hood
Hood sometimes = soft-top.
Boot = Trunk.
Tyre = Tire
Windscreen = Windshield
Colour = Color

Duly noted - still waiting on manufacturer response :)

Did you tell the manufacturer that I'm waiting? :)
I did, sir. Have you purchased another 70 Series to replace the one you sold (with a bonnet protector)? :)

SURVEY UPDATE

So..... do we have a preference for tall center section as immediately below or lower-profile as in lower photo?

Disregard the text content or style for the moment... thanks!

I am not sure I can tell the difference between the two ... :meh:

1 vote ..... Lower profile.
I would assume, perhaps incorrectly, that the lower profile one would have a tad more structural integrity.
