I have read many threads on those? What do they do exactly and how hard of a job is it?
They are two pipe tees attached to the heater hoses. After many years the plastic deteriorates and becomes brittle. They are located at the back of the engine. Easy to replace, hard to access (but not impossible).

Taking the Hundy to the stealership tomorrow to fix my antenna that got ripped off in a car wash Should I just have them do it? I don't have barely any tools and not too savy with the vehicles

@Nathan Neumeyer that is your call. Pop the hood and look between the engine and firewall in front of the driver. See if you can spot the two spots where the heater hoses are tee'd.

The tees cost about $10 a piece (you need two) at a discounted rate from Toyota, so keep that in mind when the dealer gives you the cost estimate for the job. To do the job yourself, you would need a 10mm socket (to remove the engine cover) and a good pair of channel locks and/or vice grips to slide the clamps over. Three clamps per Tee. Do one tee at a time. Long arms also help. You can also completely remove the hoses from the vehicle to replace the tee, this reduces the risk of a plastic chuck falling into the heater core if the tee breaks.

@Nathan Neumeyer ... the heater t's are a pretty straight forward job....I'm not that mechanically inclined, but found it fairly easy. Here's a GREAT step-by-step for the change out. The dealer might charge you $50+.

DIY: Replacing heater hose pipe T's *important*

If you were here in Austin, I'd offer my assistance in exchange for a beer.

Thank you man! Austin sounds nice right about now! SO DOES A BEER. Not at 830 in the am though

I'm working with a stock 02, looks like we're in a nearly identical boat. At least yours didn't come with the sweet Firestones, white-side out and all. Nicer tires are up next for me for sure.
