I have a 67 FJ40 F135 with a single pulley on the crankshaft. I am changing over to power steering and need a dual groove pulley. I don't want to have to go with a later model dual groove pulley (drilling & tapping for a bolt, to secure it on).

EDIT- I may have to go that way, if you have a dual pulley for a later model around a 1973 let me know. Looking for double grooved (both wide grooves) pulley.

I copied a picture off Mud, a member had a Mapco add-a-pulley. Seems to be a quick clean upgrade. It would be need to be a larger/wider pulley. I am looking into removing the pulley from a spare that I have and removing the center portion, similar to what is in the picture. I am open to suggestions on this upgrade.

Thanks,
Kevin

I wonder if that bolt on Mapco was a one time deal or maybe it was taken from a chevy 6 ??

What's up Kevin? Found you post from 2015 about a add on pulley for a F motor. What did you end up doing? I have a single groove press on pulley and really don't want to replace it.

I ended up sourcing a dual balancer from SOR. It came off a firetruck version. They used it to power the pump via hydraulics. You can refer back to my build on how I set it up.

Ask, and ye shall receive. Pretty reasonable price for a hard to find item!

Mark, is that what's included in your basic power steering kit?

No, pulleys are not included in power steering kits.

Did you leave a VM about a power steering kit on Friday? Seems I remember someone leaving a VM that had a need, with a question about the harmonic balancer.

if you were that person. I left a return VM for you when I got into the shop.

wondering if anyone else is interested in a bolt on pulley setup for the crank. just put one on my 45 to add ps. I'm not a machinist but seems like with the computer technology out there now it would be really simple to take the specs from this one and recreate. id pull this one back off to send out to someone to do the work and get a couple in return. looking at adding ps to my other 45 in the near future .if there's interest and ability within the group. it's just a v groove aluminum pulley with the center drilled for the crank and two holes to bolt on where you would put a puller. it's similar to vintage airs bolt on pulley but I feel it could be recreated pretty simple and no reason 160. maybe that's just my thoughts but seems strap for a simple piece especially once the specs are in the computer.

Probably better to open a new thread on the subject.
