Once you get the vinyl and plastic clean, use some 303 protectant on it.

I second the 303 protectant.

Also, to clean marine vinyl, sunbrella etc. you have to give Mr. Clean Magic Eraser a try. You will not be disappointed. It works like, err...magic. When I first tried the stuff I didn't think it would work.. Pfft..add water to a sponge it says. Yeah, right. But the thing is amazing. Works well around the house to so my wife says.

I also used 3M Marine cleaner and wax. It's does a great job for light to med. oxidization on your gel coat.

I'd hate to see a good boat go by the wayside. I know we just sold our 2655 Bayliner due to a move to the city.

I think a new head is going to run around 4k, not including miscellaneous odds and ends or labor. Not worth it for a 10 year old carbed motor, imho.

You can pick up a used motor for around there installed. Always a tough question since the value of the boat or your desire to keep it comes into play. Then again, if the boat's in good shape, try and find a good used one for that amount of money, really tough....

I found a 225 Yamaha (fuel injected) with low hours for a friend of mine. The previous owner had more money than sense and just wanted a four stroke. Got it for $2500. Came with control cables, oil tank, and all the other bits to make it bolt on and go.

I was looking there earlier. I don't see where they say if they those are saltwater series or not. I have heard people talk about ed's before saying that local dealers can't touch his prices, but that if you actually go and use ed, installation or shipping will kill the deal. You have any experience with them?

I used ed's price to get a killer deal from a local dealer. I got my boat from pinecrest marine in Columbia.

I'm looking to repower soon and always have had Yammi's without any issues at all. But those e-tec's and the Suzuki's are attractive also. ALOT of guys are running Suzuki's here now and really like them.
