Mighta found your problem...is that chrome on the starter? Looks like some more on the hold down clamp, experience shows chrome parts do not work :mad:


Seriously though, hope you get it sorted without the 44
 
Ole Blue having a rough winter. Last week amp gage dropped on way down south, exhaust loosened up from frost heaves. Exhaust fixed. Replaced alternator with 1 from my 91 3fe still not where it should be Help me :)

You need it to be 3fe or can you use a 2f? Do you have the exciter circuit hooked up?
 
Can’t recall if 3fe needs outboard charging relay to start... I have an old 2f alternator... if you need it, I’ll send it.
 
Low volts or amps?
 
Have you checked voltage at the alternator with a known good meter?
