it is crap, I am in Leesburg I will come and take it off your hands......

Kidding. That looks not to bad.

First thing, pull the carpet. If you want to keep it then take it out carefully. You will find more holes in the floor and on the drivers for sure.
Check the rear quarters, North East...they are rusted or rested and repaired.. That back hatch looks better than mine. I have a fist size hole in mind, but have a second hatch.

The rockers can be fixed and worst case you can cut the rockers and put sliders there.

Does it run? That 5-speed conversion is a bonus. I say fix it and enjoy it. Mine is or was as bad. I am currently patching 6 holes in my floors with a combination of welding and epoxy patches (using body work epoxy so it is staying forever). You do not need to be a pro welder. I know i am not.
But you need somewhere to work on it.

Asset the rust, check the mechanical, dump the gas if it has sat for a while change all of the fluids and make sure the brakes are solid.

If you want it as a DD, they you MUST look at the requirements for safety inspection.
Virginia State Police - Safety Division

RUST cannot be any holes leading into the cabin of the vehicle.

19VAC30-70-270. Floor pan.
Inspect for and reject if:
1. The floor pan or inner side panels, front or rear, are rusted out or have any
holes other than normal drain holes that allow exhaust gases to enter the
occupant compartment or trunk.
2. The floor pan is rusted through or is in such condition to create a hazard to
the occupants. A hole in the floor pan which has been properly repaired by
welding, or through the utilization of a metal patch riveted, screwed or welded to
its surface is not prohibited
. If the floor pan was initially constructed from wood,
it may be patched with wood.
It does run, needs the knuckles rebuilt/exhaust changes and some oil leaks fixed but everything major works.

I bet the frame is rusted under the window seals.

Mine was horrible (I will take a pic later)
I have bubbling on the drivers rear cargo window sill but not bad enough to pull the window yet.

Major work is on the eyes of the person doing it.
My wife says mine needs major work, compacted to the Chevelle I redid, it is minor.

If you have a second vehicle, then you could put vintage plates on it here and the. Convert to regular plates once you have the issues worked out and the inspection done.
You can not drive it
More than 250 miles from home and not to work.

OTRAMM got me up and running as a daily driver.

They built me a stainless exhaust that sounds awesome. Knuckles rebuilt.

I found good blue tailgate and lift gate from another mudmember that I hope to get on the rig in a few weeks.

That will take care of worst areas.

Additionally so far: New tires. I have fixed several electrical gremlins. Put in 80 series cd/tape/double din radio. Replaced instrument panel plastic. Replaced all instrument panel lights. Replaced fuse box door. Sway bars replaced. Used only oem parts.

Been a lot of fun driving this past year.

Good to see it’s working out.

Looks like it needs a minor frame repair, ospho and paint bottom side. New doors, hatch, and paint it.

You are way ahead of the game at $1500. $4500 needed into body and $1500 in the interior?

Chassis and trailer shops are pretty cheap by the hour.

I would probably fix it and enjoy it. It would add value to it.

Thanks a lot. That is good advice and is my plan.

I forgot I got new drum brakes and front brakes as well.

Know any chasis trailer shops in the northern virgknis or nearby areas?

No but I thought of it because I just bought a new equipment trailer (20ft 14TL Big Tex) and they did a real nice job welding on some custom stuff real cheap.

Southeast Texas area.

Parts I need:
Front Valence - Blue

Passenger side Front / Back Doors (Blue)

All areas Carpet (Since I am a conversion to manual should I get FJ60 carpet? I also was thinking dynamat but have no experience with that)

Driver’s Seatbelt Gray

The trim that covers the driver and passenger seatbelts (gray) (is there a clip that sits in these? If so need that too)

Issues:
Drivers side front window: gets stuck half way down and I have to strong arm it the rest of the way. It is worse when it rains.

A/C Vents: the ones that can open and close have only one flap that opens and closes. I looks like the gear that opens and closes the flaps is only connected to one flap? Any fix for this?

Exhaust: sounds like its rattling every now and then. Am I missing a piece? I thought I saw a vibration dampener on a schematic somewhere?

Frame Rust: Is the rust on my frame on metal I can replace easily with a pre-made kit through trailtailor?

I am sure I will need more parts and need to fix more things but this is my list so far.

Thanks for any help or parts.

I would contact a salvage yard about the Frame piece and doors. I bought a door for like $300 for a project (cruiserjunnktion in Gainesville). There is a guy in NC that imports 70 series but I bought some 60 parts from ‘he had in his shed’, would you like his email? Another good yard is Sigfrieds in Colorado. Search tempest as well. Part out section here for small stuff like vents and misc.

You can get the valance new, less prep.

Carpet @dnp , send him a message. No need to dynamat.

Unless you are into rainbows I would find a painter. Doubt you’ll find all matching parts.

Long story short it looks like your rust is luckily easy to fix per the pics, probably worth it.

Hi, I would make the back frame rebuild High Priority. A rear end collision would would be bad and undo a lot of your hard work. Mike

Advertise on parts wanted forum for your needs. It looks to me like your frame could indeed be taken care of with the trail tailor kit.

I’m going to apply for this.
Sorry I don't understand this post. Why post this up in @LemonLaw 's build thread?

If you're a part of the 2SLGBTQ community and want to support this bursary, this would be better posted in one of the social forums.
