I thought I'd better get my pic's up, as I have been reading, posting, asking and learning, so here is my JDM recently purchased, as I sold one 8 years ago, and regretted ever since. I looked at importing straight from jap auction, I came across 2 in 6 months, missed out on 1 and chickened out on the other, then found a goody in Melbourne imported 05 for senior citizen, 87 bj74, 24 volt, 32" AT rubber, 260k on clock, 13bt/ h55f, suspension seats, standard electrics, ac ps, widows, mirrors, etc , ugly bullbar, spotties, no leaks, my concrete in garage is still clean, storage draws, roll bar, front carpet removed and HD vinyl inserted, all internal body has been sprayed with lead base deadner, Factory24v12 v converter, for stereo, and great stereo plenty of clear loud sound if needed, red arc trailer 24/12v set up, rhino roof racks directly attached through FRP, no signs of leaks in roof lining, overhead console, UHF, here is the option ol mate fitted but I'm still unsure yet whether I will keep on, 4 x airbag suspension activated via remote control, 4 buttons 1 for each bag, dual air compressor in rear, 24v powered split down to 12 v,
Purchased a couple of months back, first thing I got organised was steering, brakes, shocks, also new thermostat took out 88 and put in 82, just got clutch mag rewound for ac as it was burnt out, blowin 6degress just in time for qLD summer, I'm absolutely enjoying MUD, plenty of like minded folk who appreciate the quality and reliability of cruisers, Cheers

Those rear storage compartments are very nice looking! As is the roll bar. Very nice!

Very nice.....
Your security system ( Rusty ) looks very efficient. :)

Hey nice looking rig bro! Your right, that bull bar IS ugly, but it would be a beauty in a header with a tree!

I like the drawers in the back too, might have to do something like that myself.

I actually like the brush bar ( I would like it better, powder coated black ) but I like
it.

Upper rad hose 13bt

Recently replaced thermostat, as the pressure of upper rad hose was never really satisfactory, updated cap as well, upper rad hose still not pressurised, now I see that the lower portion or hose seems to be leaking as there is water stain evidence on housing, this was evident previously as well, I'm thinking this is the reason for top hose not getting completely pressurised prior to new thermo and cap, if I slap some gasket guck on thermo outlet and new clamp, this should do the trick, any thoughts ??

Internal lamp/ door switches

Decided to investigate why the lnside lamp was not working, after opening up there was no wiring from dome light back to main wiring harness, what a pain n the arse, Pulled up wiring schematics, that's fun ken useless as well. Stil. Had a go and pulled apart and tried to follow the schematic, I just got more confused, colour coded wires just didn't line up.
The door switch is plugged to a wire that should link the the other door switch and head towards lamp, although this disappears into the body and doesn't end up making its way to the lamp over head. I'm thinking to just forget the factory wiring ! by passing, ( removing the 7.5 amp fuse) and create new wiring link from door switches, earthing and creating new power source, and conecting the internal lamp.
Has anyone had similar issue with dome light not directly hooked up, I'm thinking a previous owner has played with this for some reason, any thoughts anyone???:bang:
