Fan clutch could be losing its viscosity?? Not sure what a good test for it would be though, I know you can buy the oil to repair it. That is if that's what was causing the temp rise?
 
Good point carpet that is something I am considering, and will look into.
My understanding is these old donks don't like it when outside temps get up there, so it's wise to check the fan and replace anyway, one less thing to be concerned about.
 
We had plenty of rain here the moment, and I crossed a flooded road, around the cnr from home, no real current where I crossed just backwater swirling, anyway a lot deeper than I thought, water over bonnet, rear wheels lifted off ground, this was first time I really had the old yota snorkel in action, checked airbox at home and it was dry, happy days, although my lights were a different story image.webpimage.webp
